Indian Railways - TATKAL TICKET BOOKING ONLINE USING IRCTC WEBSITE

It is to complain with deep pain that IRCTC Tatkal online (e-ticket) reservation process is of no use with session getting dropped or unavailable during initial hours of it\'s opening period.

Virtually every time you try to book in the morning at 8:00AM, the www.irctc.co.in login session will either drop almost instantaneously with errors such as \"service unavailable\", “failing to load” entire page and intermittent disconnection problems etc. Surprisingly access to all sites other than the www.irctc.co.in works okay during this initial period of Tatkal e-ticket reservation.

More to the surprise, suddenly after some time everything starts working fine, but only to know that all tickets have been waitlisted by that time. Since this is not one time or isolated incidents but is being faced daily by all the internet users who attempt to book online through IRCTC reservation website, I feel that there is some kind of nexus to prevent people from their rights of equality otherwise how come booking of the tickets across the Railway Reservation Counter Terminal and through Travel Agents is possible.
Are there any “priority levels” service assigned in the software developed for Computerized Train Ticket Reservation System?
It seems that IRCTC servers are not able to handle heavy load. It’s high time that Indian Railways should upgrade the servers as now almost all are using IRCTC to book tickets and it is one of the Indian site which gets maximum number of hits.
Is there a nexus between agents and IRCTC as it is learnt that these agents have some program to book Tatkal tickets which is scheduled to run during 8 to 8.15AM and it keeps running during this time until all their tickets are booked.

The authorities concerned are to treat this alarming situation / major inconvenience to public and take immediate remedial measures on “top priority” probing the reasons for the online ticket booking failures.

Hi i am 4m Assam.last 6 years i am in Goa.I travel three times in a year by Amravati exp. This train does not have pantry-car.For tatkal ticket a ordinary people can't get a ticket in Madgao station . we "Q" at station for a tatkal ticket morning 01 am.before 10 min. to open the ticket counter a group(08-10) of travel agency runs by local people they abuse nonGoans & stands in front......in(Q)
my complain is those people are well known by ticket master. i think they all r setting. Why we r suffering? for non goans?Railways doesn't knows.still sleeping. Wake up......... when? We all so Indian,

Yes, I agree to improve the tatkal Train Reservation Facility Online, and in this regard, I have already made a Complaint, dt.12/08/2012, with the head line- WRONG POLICY OF TATKAL RAILWAY RESERVATION RULES", which is as under:-

Sir,
The existing Tatkal Railway Reservation Rules are not benefitted to the Public at large/ Online Registered Individual users of Irctc, in the following manner:-

As per existing policy Tatkal Reservation can only be done from one day before the date of scheduled journey date, i.e. if journey date is 15th August, Tatkal Reservation can only be done from 14th August and Not before 14th August, i.e. For 15th August, Tatkal Reservation can Not be done Neither on today (12th August) Nor on 13th August, and it can be done only on 14th August, and on 14th August also, Tatkal Reservation can Not be done before 10.00 A.M., and within a span of 1/2 Hour, all the seats allotted to Tatkal Quota gets completed and thereafter only waiting list continues.

In Order to avoid the above situation, my comments/ suggestions are as under:-

(1)The Restriction of Tatkal booking ONLY ONE DAY BEFORE the date of scheduled journey BE REMOVED PERMANENTLY, because in my opinion, there is No loss to the Indian Railways, if any one Book Tatkal Ticket EITHER ONE DAY BEFORE the date of Journey OR 30 DAYS OR MORE BEFORE the date of Journey.

(2)If the Restriction of Tatkal booking ONE DAY BEFORE the date of scheduled journey BE REMOVED PERMANENTLY, Then in my opinion, there will be NO RUSH NEITHER at the Railway Booking Counter NOR at the Railway Reservation Website, and in this way, the Public at large will be benefitted.

The compaint raised here by this gentle man seems to be genuine and right. I too have felt so bad while booking Tatkal ticket, when the site has no response.
So I agree with this complaint, and I am sure that many people are having the same feeling.
The railway authorities should take immediate remedial measures on top top priority to get equal chances to the public.

friend , its 100 % true. i have not booked any ticket ever between 8.00 to 8.15 AM on irctc. Even if you will go for window bboking at any computer reservation center you will not find your turn before 8.20 AM. Every booking clerk has at least one reservation form at his hand and he book that ticket first. My suggestion is that either Govt should stopped this practice or just stop the tatkal facility any more.

delhi mey raiway ticket nahi milraha hai tikat black mey 300 rupiye ka 1800 mang rahe hain.sara ticket bahhar mey bech diya jaraha hai.counter wale mile huwe hain.

I too have faced the same problem multiple times.
I must have booked hundreds of online rail tickets through irctc but was never successful in getting an confirmed tatkal ticket despite being on time.
Whereas there are agents who claim to give any destination tickets by charging exhorbitant amounts. Definateley these agents are working hand in gloves with railway authorities or else it is not possible. Does anyone care for the passengers?
