SKODA: DUBIOUS DEAL. DEVIOUS DEALERS.

DETAILS:
Skoda Fabia Diesel purchased in 2009.
Dealer: Asset Auto, Bhandarkar Road, Pune.

COMPLAINTS FACED REPEATEDLY AFTER PURCHASE:
1. Power steering failed in the middle of the road. Luckily there were no vehicles behind us, else it could have had been fatal.

2. Repeated power windows / power lock failure, which has been a persistent problem.
COMPLAINT THAT RENDERED THE CAR USELESS:
In January 2012 my car broke down on Pune-Bangalore highway, because of gear box failure with jammed the engine on road. My car was only 2.5 years at that point of time. We towed the car to the nearest Skoda center, Shrine Auto, in Kolhapur.
After inspection, Shrine Auto said that the gear box has opened and the bearings have splintered and jammed the engine. They said that it can be fixed, but it will cost us around Rs 80,000.
Ideally, if there was a problem with the gear, there should have been a sign on the screen. This makes it suspect. However, the Skoda team is refusing to clarify our doubts satisfactorily.
The car in its current condition is unsafe for use.

Naturally, I sued the company by filing a consumer complaint in May 2012. The reaction to the complaint will explain why I have started a Facebook campaign (Skoda Pay Me Back):
1. INACTION: The complaint was moved from Shrine Auto, Kolhapur to Asset Auto, Pune. To date, the latter has been unhelpful and unresponsive to my complaint.
2. DEVIOUS BEHAVIOR: As respondents to my case, Skoda lawyers only show up for every third hearing and ask for a fresh hearing. This ensures that the case will not be awarded in my favour for Skoda’s no-show in court, while I attend every hearing in vain.
Of course, it causes delay, which they hope will weaken my resolve to fight the case.
Well, Skoda, it will not.
3. SHUTTING ME UP: I have tried complaining on Skoda’s official page on FB alst year, but each time my post was deleted within 15 minutes. It is indeed puzzling why Skoda is so quick to muzzle my voice, but will not budge to repair my car.
All I humbly ask is for my car to be repaired and Skoda to bear the cost of Rs 80,000. Because, clearly I have been duped into buying a faulty car and deserve to be compensated.

DEAR SKODA, WITH A TURNOVER OF MORE THAN USD 13.5 BILLION, SURELY THIS WON’T PINCH YOUR POCKET, WILL IT?
