Sir,

Sub: Policy cancellation not successful due to ICICI agent\'s mistake - Need Refund

I got a Globetrotter Overseas Individual Student Insurance Policy with the Policy number : 4050/2060900/00/000. It\'s start date was supposed to be 01-Sept-2009 and end date- 31-AUG-2010. My university (Columbia University, NY, USA) rejected this policy in November and I contacted the person who provided me with this policy - Sumeet Chopra (Mob - ********98). I was never told by when could I cancel the policy and even though I and my father continuously contacted him, he never cancelled my policy. I contacted him again now when I came back to Delhi, but he says it is too late and he cannot do anything about it. As an agent, it was his responsibility to tell me about the any deadlines/procedures and go about the necessary procedures to cancel the policy. As a customer, it is frustrating to see that the assurance given at the time when the policy was given has been broken and I haven\'t gotten my money back. Currently, even my sister has her policy from ICICI lombard which is working fine, but since my university rejected it, I would need a refund for the policy that was supposed to be cancelled way back.
