My apple ipod touch 1st generation has not been working since a month. I was told that Conquer technologies in Hyderabad is the authorized service center. When I gave the piece, they did not even try to see what the problem is, they just handed the piece back to me saying that the serial number is not visible on the cover. I am surprised, how in the world a company like APPLE can put a serial number on the back cover which is so important for further service. Now, the problem is, the serial number is not visible, I have to throw the piece away.
They also told me that, if I somehow from my purchase receipt get the serial number, then it takes 10K to repair the piece :-).
I did not know, buying an apple IPOD touch or for that matter any apple product, servicing is so difficult.
I will think twice to buy any apple product from now.
