CASA Retreat P Ltd - Unfair trade practice and a clear case of cheating

Respected Sir/Madam,

I have enrolled as member with VCC on 11/5/2007 by making an upfront payment of Rs.14, 000.00 through my HDFC Credit card on 11/5/2007(Receipt #3905). I had a very bad experience since then and I was not provide with any facility and was not treated in a professional way in terms of exchanging my holiday vouchers.
In the first week of December 2007, I have placed a request for a 3 nights and 4 days trip to Ooty, tentative dates given to the agent (13th – 16th or 26th – 29th). I was promised by the agent that they will get back to me by end of December 2007 or 1st week of January 2008. I waited till 1st week of January 2008, there was not revert. I was continuously following with the agent and the answer I got was the concern person who took the booking was not available, I will ask them to give you a call, but nothing has happened. Kindly note most of the time the phone line keeps on ringing and no one answers them (out of 100 tries 3-4 time someone will pickup and answer mentioning the above statement). I was following with the member till Jan 20th 2008 and finally give it up as I have already made arrangements on my own.

In February 2008 I again called up and I got the agent on line after several attempts and explained my concerns. The agent shows his hospitality towards my concerns and assured that the same will not repeat again. I again checked with him mentioning that can I get an extension of the unutilized holidays. He promised it will be automatically carry forward since there is a pending request already. I got convinced with the same closed my call placing a request not to repeat the similar experience during my next holiday plan.

In May 2008 1st week I called up the agent once again to en-cash my free holiday voucher given to me with 2 nights complimentary. After checking with them I sent my father to get the same en-cashed. He was told that they will get back to him in 3 weeks and took the dates. No one got back to me or my father after that and I tried reaching the agent after 3 weeks and given up my efforts at the end of May.

In December 2008, again I called up VCC with dates for Wayanad on February 2009 Last week. The agent confirmed me about the same and took my office phone, hand phone details and email id too. But the beauty of the system is always the same. This time also I was cheated and I end up in doing multiple calls with no results.
In Feb 2010, I again called up VCC and placed a request for Goa with dates referring to last week of March. The agent promised me that he will get back to me by end of Feb. No wonder the same thing repeated this time also. I got very much disappointed with this and I went to VCC office personally on 27th March 2009 meet the agent personally and came to know that I can en-cash only my current year vacation and not the previous years. I was told that I have to come to the office personally and carry forward the missed out periods 1 month in advance before the due dates. When I checked for the Goa request I placed there was no answer. I was told they will check and come back.

Then I was following with VCC and finally they asked me to contact CASA Retreat (P) Ltd,I wrote a mail and followed with CASA and one MR. Raj was in touch with me and he said my first year holidays were elapsed and I can only carry forward my 2nd and 3rd year. He said that he will own the problem and ensure that I will have a good holiday and referred me to contact MR. Ravi for future requirements (He collected my vouchers back and said that he will sent to my mailing address which never came to me). This happen sometime in April 2010. (I have a mail chain that was shared between MR. Raj and me)

Since there was no revert from MR. Raj or CASA I went to CASA office along with my wife and met MR. Ravi and enquired about my voucher status he said that it was renewed for 6 nights and 7 days till May 2011. I asked him to book Pondicherry 2 Rooms for 2 nights and 4 days for 14/15/16/17 Jan 2011. He took the request and confirmed me with the booking no 280 and asked me to get in touch with him either in the last week of DEC 2010 or first week of Jan2011. I called Ravi in last week of Dec 2010 and he took my email id and said that he will send the vouchers in my email by Jan 5th 2011. On Jan 6th I called him since I have not got any email, he said it was booked in Ginger hotels and I can come on collect the vouchers on 10th Jan 2011. I called MR. Ravi on 10th Jan 2011 in the morning and he asked me to come to his office before 4:00PM to collect the office. I reached CASA office at 3:30PM and checked with one of the staff member (He was reluctant in sharing the name) He said MR. Ravi has left for the day. I asked him to connect to MR. Ravi he refused saying that he do not have Ravi's Mobile No. On stressing he said that He works for CASA and I am a member of VCC and he connected me to one Mr.Srinath. Mr.Srinath talked with me and said that he will deliver the vouchers to my office on 11th Jan 2011 before 3:30PM. I waited till 3:30PM tried calling him on the know what he has given (41510344) no one picked up.

I was totally upset with the whole thing happened for me. I felt that I was cheated by both VCC and CASA.
I have not got any of the benefits from the package offer in spite of paying the package cost 100% in advance and my complete effort to use the offer effectively. Considering my experience and the mental agony that I had gone through, I see this as an unfair trade practice and a clear case of cheating. I request you to help me in addressing my grievance. I can’t keep my promises to my family as per my plan and take them out on a vacation. More over every time I end up in taking leave for my work and end up in staying back without any outing or paid on my own for the outing.

Please help me in getting 100% refund with interest on the money what I have paid (Rs.14, 000.00)
Rs.1, 00,000.00 as demerges for the mental agony and the losses that I have incurred
