Hi,
I am logging this request on behalf of my wife who faces challenge everyday getting into the ladies first class from Mulund towards CST. This is majorly due to the small size of the ladies first class compartment in central railway trains.
This is a everyday problem where we see there is a serious need of increasing the size of ladies first class compartment. The size of this compartment today is around 13-14 sitting capacity.
We understand that Indian Railways is trying their best for providing great services specially in the heavily populated city of Mumbai. At the same time, railways also need to look at the fact that there is a remarkable increase in the no. of women working and travelling to work. We believe that, Central Railways definitely need to see this as a need of time and revisit their capacity planning in order to make train ride comfortable and safe for women passengers.
We request you to change the capacity for the ladies first class compartment to be same as gents first class compartment.
Thanks & regds,
Central Railway Passenger
Hi!!
I am one of the many female travellers, travelling by Central Railway local trains. I agree that the matter has to be taken on urgent priority.
On regular working days, especially the peak hours (8am to 10am and 6pm to 8pm), its a real great task to get in the 1st class, forget the comfort zone.
In a 9 coach train, there are 2 ladies First Class compartments, totally capacitating sitting arrnagement for only 28 ladies and a passage for standing femal commuters. Believe me, being a regular traveller, i think there would be atleast 150 ladies in one first class compartment during the peak hours, though i agree that the rest of the day may be the first class runs empty. But Central Railway should think of some solution like may be running extra 1st class compartments for the morning trains (this is just a suggestion, which i think can be put into action)
Its a sincere request on behalf of all the female commuters to kindly look into the matter on urgent basis.
Thanks and Regards
A Regular Central and Western Railway Commuter
