I being an ex-serviceman retired from the Indian Navy and having joined the Bank as a Clerk-cum-typist on 22.09.1986 and retired on superannuation on 30.09.2008. As on the date of my appointment I have been fixed at the starting pay scale of Rs.520/- instead of Rs.685/- as per the prevailing Government of India, Bank\'s Circular No.STAFF/40 dated 19.08.1987, wherein it has been stipulated that the re-fixation of pay of re-employed ex-servicemen should be as per the protection of the last drawn salary in the armed forces. In accordance with this circular, my salary must have been fixed at a stage where pay plus dearness allowance drawn in the armed forces last drawn should be Rs.685/- (seventh stage of basic pay). Having completed 22 years of service, right from day one, I have been pleading for re-fixation of my pay. Whereas, the Bank in its internal correspondence at the Personnel Department of Local Head Office, Bangalore vide their letter No.PER/CO/79 dated 03.02.1992 and PER/CO/149 dated 02.05.1992 had invariably accepted that my claim for Rs.685/- as re-fixation was confirmed to be correct but the Bank at various levels have been depriving me of the benefit of re-fixation. I have been pleading at various higher levels both in the Bank as well as in the offices of Government of India including Her Excellency the President of India in person. The matter needs to be looked into and the justice bestowed upon me with retrospective effect from the date of my appointment till the date of retirement. I would earnestly appeal to you to kindly intervene in the matter and arrange speedy disbursal of the difference of arrears accordingly.
