Respected Sir/Madam,

Summary: This is to inform you that I’ve booked my household items from Delhi to Guwahati with the Cargo company by the name of “United India Packers and Movers” on 20th September 2011 and they promised to deliver the goods in 8 days. As per the documents, the delivery date was 28th September 2011, but I received it 10th November 2011 which is after 50 days. The packing was not good, bed got damaged. Missing item – imported Blanket, Chair, Flower pot, some door mat etc.

Detail description: I’ve decided to move to Guwahati permanently, so I called JUSTDIAL to inquiry about the cargo company on 17th September 2011. They’ve sent me the list of many Cargo company and spread my number to all the Cargo Company. The next days (18th September 2011) I got a call back from Ramesh Choudhry from SOHAM CARGO PACKERS & MOVERS and asked for the list of the goods and informed the same over the phone. The same was agreed at Rs.22,000/- including all taxes and insurance at 3% and the valuation of the goods was declared by me was Rs.1,00,000/- although it’s more than 1,50,000/- Finally the deal was agreed without surveying the goods.

Somehow I decided to see their office before I booked the goods so that incase if the goods doesn’t deliver I can approach to them. I asked them to message their address to my mobile. They’ve sent the address via text message to my mobile after 1 hour that too after contacting second time.

They both agreed to pick the goods within 2 to 3 days, but by the evening they called me and want to pick the goods tonight and will send the good by the next day morning, but I decided not to give my goods without seeing the office and base. The next day I visited to their good down at: 26/6, Ashok Vihar, Phase – III, Gurgaon (Harayana) and met Amit Choudhry. I asked them to pack and pick on the same day at 11 PM as I don’t have time during day. The truck came with the supervisor “Kamal” along with two labors and one driver.

The whole night they packed my goods and left on 20th September 2011 morning.

I’ve noticed that they called me by the name of “SOHAM CARGO”, but the document were given by the name of “United India Packers and Movers”, I asked the same and the supervisor said that the “SOHAM CARGO” is for shifting local goods, but they know as “United India Packers and Movers” for National. The delivery date was 28th September 2011.

Number of the truck came to pick the goods is HR 57 - 1960.

I booked my ticket and reached Guwahati by 27th September 2011 to received the goods on 28th September and taken a rented house in Guwahati. I took leave from my office up to 9th October 2011. The rent of the house is Rs.4500/- When the goods doesn’t reached by 28th September 2011, I called them on ********57 and they informed that they’ve sent the goods on 26th September 2011 and it’ll reached by 6 October 2011.

Initially I don’t mind as it was just late by 6 days and agreed for the same. On 6th day I called them on ********57 and asked for the same and they informed that the truck got breakdown at Patna and it can’t be repair. To book the goods on another truck, it’ll cost them lots of extra money and they won’t have any profit and they decided to re-load the goods on another truck back to Lucknow to their good downs and will be sent back by their own truck. They told me that it’ll be delivered on 11th October 2011, but still agreed and extended my leave until 15th October 2011.

I called them on 10th to confirm whether it’ll reach on 11th October 2011 or not, but they said they’ll call me back with 10 minutes. I got angry as cold is already started in Guwahati as me, my wife and my 1 year little daughter without any warm clothes. After 2 hours when I called them, they said the goods will reach within 2 to 3 days and given the number of the driver ********15, which is switch off until now.

I called on the driver’s number ********15 on 15th October 2011, which was still switch off until then and I called on ********57 and started shouting at them as I’m frustrated and afraid I’ve lost my goods, need to do something early and keep extending my leave which was difficult for me. I was staying on relative’s house without any warm clothes, although we’re paying for the rent house at the same time. It was new guy I speak too and threatened me that “PYAR SE BAAT KARO AGGAR SAMAN SAHIYAE TO”, means “Speak in love if you need the goods” and they’ve disconnected the call. I felt afraid that I’ve lost my goods, I’m in tense what happened to my goods, and it’s very difficult for me as I won’t be able to afford to buy all the goods again. I worked for 7 years in Delhi to buy those things.

I contacted my friend of Gurgaon immediately to contact them on my behalf. He said he called from Gurgaon and asked what happed to the goods of Nobal, they said that the truck got damaged at Patna as the driver left the truck after getting scold from the truck owner. They’ll send the driver from Delhi before or after the Deepawali and after few days I’ll receive the goods in Guwahati. I decided to stay until 24th October 2011 by extending my leave, but still there was no sign of the goods.

I reached Delhi on 26th October by train and I was travelling by train during Deepawali back to Delhi without my family, you can imagine my situation that I was far away from my family during Deepawali, that too in train. My 1 year daughter was without any warm clothes in Guwahati in relative’s house.

I reached Delhi on 26th October 2011 at 8:30 PM, the buses and auto was almost nil due to Deepawali, but managed to reach home at Palam. I’ve visited to their good down at Ashok Vihar in Gurgaon on 28th, 29th October 2011, but no one was there on good down. The next shop keeper said they hardly open the good down.

On 30th October 2011, I visited again, but the next shop keeper asked me to visit their rented house which just 100 meter away. I’ve visited the room and I met Amit Choudhry and asked me to sit. Strange they asked me to sit on my chair only which they’re using. The flower pot was just next to their door, they were also using my door mats. These are the goods that they were using before my eyes.


For the first time I met Rakesh, but I felt by his tone of voice that he was the guy who threatened me to speak in love if I needs the goods. I explained the whole situation peacefully and patiently with polite as I need my goods. Also when I asked, why my chair, flower pot and doormat are still lying here. They said that this are left by mistake and will send on another truck and it can be collected from the good down of Guwahati.

When I asked Rakesh about the rest of the goods, replied that the goods are still lying in Faizapur, UP (as per them it’s in UP, near the UP and Bihar border). They’ll be sending the driver from Delhi and I’ll get it by 9th November, but if I won’t get on 9th November 2011 they’ll give all the expanses like hotel expenses, travelling allowances etc. I said, I’ll wait until 9th November and if I won’t get it by 9th November 2011, I’ll lodge an FIR on 10th November 2011. They said okay. Even I informed about their threatening, they said it was boss, but I didn’t asked the name of the boss.

I contacted them on 8th November and finally given the phone number of another driver that works. I contacted the driver and the driver said the goods will be delivering on 10th November 2011. I said okay. I got the call from the driver on 10th November 2011 inquiring about the address, I’ve given the address and it was delivered.

The driver said the packing was not good, the goods was given to the driver on 5th November 2011 at Borderpur Border, New delhi. At the time of loading, the driver asked for my phone number, but they haven’t given my number

Finally I got the goods, but I found that the bed is damaged, the chair of my computer table is missing, imported blanket, flowerpot and door mat is also missing. If I’ve missed more items or they’ve removed some of the item from the cartoon, which I’ll come to know later on only as it’s difficult to remember all the goods as they’ve packed all the goods under the cartoon.

I asked my wife to get the sign from the driver by mentioning the missing items and damaged bed and the same was couriered to me. I spoke with Amit on 11th November 2011 and given the phone number of Abilash (********08), he is the person who loaded the goods to the truck as per Amit.

Abilash told me that he will check on good downs and the same will let me know by evening, but there was no call from him by evening. I called him and enquired the same, but told me that it was not in the good down and will check in another good down, but until today (24 November 2011), I’m unable to contact him until today.

When I went on 17th November at their residence again, but it was locked and the neighbor said that they went to village as they’re having some police case as they haven’t deliver some bike to some party. I’m still calling Amit, but says only Abilash will be able to tell me as he was the person who loaded the goods. He’ll come they after tomorrow (dated 21/11/2011) and will let me know, but till now no calls from Amit. If I called him either on ********57 or ********57, he doesn’t pick my call.

Conclusion: Dear Sir/madam, please let me know what shall I do now? I only need the blanket that’s it. There were 2 blanket, one is 6X6 (imported one, cost was Rs.2500/- and another one was small for Rs.750/- that was for my daughter). I’ll repair the bed and forget about the chair, flowerpot, doormats etc. that got missing. They charged me 3% for the insurance i.e. Rs.3000/- as I declared Rs.100000/- value.

Note: Even I email on the above address when I didn’t received the goods, still now I haven’t received any reply from them. None of the phone number is working. If it rings, no body any calls. That’s really strange.

Dear sir, this is a fraud party. Please contacted them and arrange to return my blanket, if not I’ll need an insurance claim for the missing items as well as for damaged item. No one is responding me over the phone. None of the phone number as well as the email addresses is working or gets reply. Their room is locked till date. The neighbor told me that they’re absconding as they’re having some police case for not delivering bike for another party.

This people not have any right to do business. They must be arrested. They are fraud. This is you, you can do for the sake of the people. They wouldn’t deliver my goods if I won’t return to Gurgaon. May be I’ve received the good just because I’ve seen their office before I booked the goods. It takes only 5 to 6 days to deliver the goods from Delhi to Guwahati, where they’ve taken 50 days. PLEASE DO SOMETHING AS I’VE BEEN HARASSED AND TENSED A LOT. I’ve spent lots of money contacting them over the phone as well as visiting their place from Delhi to Gurgaon.
