I applied for a prepaid number at the Vodafone store Powai on 030710 and was allotted ********48. I submitted my passport as identity and address proof.
The phone was activated within the promised 4 hours and the next day(Sunday 4th July) was disconnected- reason the address proof submitted is \'invalid\'.
As I travel regularly using this same passport I told the call centre people that they have made a mistake and that they should restart the service. They did not do so and on subsequent calls they put me on hold and then disconnected the line. This happened 4 or 5 times.
The line remained disconnected for 2 days.
I then went to the Vodafone office Powai on 6th July and met the Manager Mr Kelvin and he personally took photocopy of the passport again - the service was restarted only to be suspended again after about 8 /10 hours.
As on date(8th July) the service remains suspended.
Many calls to the Vodafone call centre and e mails to Ms Laxmi and Ms Rachna have yeilded no result. I have finally asked them to close the account and return my money.
