I, Sanjay Tandon, resident of House no 1098, Sector 10-A, Gurgaon, Haryana am having a Logan DLX vehicle since April 2008. Its registration no is HR 26 AR 8802. I have to lodge the following complaint of mishandling of my vehicle’s component by your authorized dealer – M/ GSP motors, Gurgaon, Haryana.

I was having problem of AC air flow direction not working properly, Boot lid opening switch not working and disturbance in the music system when the rear wind shield defogger was activated in winters. For rectification of the above three complaints I had given my vehicle to M/s GSP motors on 18th of Feb 2013. I got my vehicle repaired (as was said at that time) in two days and was told that the panel and cable needs to be replaced for working of the AC direction flow system and switch of the boot lid needs to be replaced and both the things were not available with the dealer and have been ordered and shall be available in a week’s time. When I operated my car, I found that the music system was working but was sometimes loud enough and sometimes not audible at all for which I again lodged complaint with my service advisor.

Last week the cable and panel had come and my vehicle was taken for repairs again on Monday and repaired in two days. After two days of repair work, I was told that the cable and panel would not work and the complete air throw assembly needs to be replaced which will be costing me Rs 11,000 or so. First of all is the air flow assembly of Logan so weak that it can’t handle 5-10 operations per year for 5 years. It had broken down for second time in five years. I am putting 5-10 operation per year basis once its flow has to be kept on face with the onset of summer, once on feet with the onset of winter and 4-5 times on windshield during rainy season. Thus a total of 50 operations in 5 years or at the max 100 operations in 5 years. Is this the quality Mahindra is boasting of and trying to come in competition to Maruti Suzuki (as earlier I had Maruti vehicle). It is really pity on Mahindra and over it you are charging Rs 11,000 as complete assembly needs to be changed and it can’t be changed in parts.

Now coming back to GSP provided service – after two days of service at GSP, when I received my vehicle I found that there was no display in the music system and I was not able to select the channel also and no music was audible, I sent back the vehicle for repairs of the music system to be returned on day three – stating there is big problem with the music system and it needs to be sent to OEM – M/s Blaupunkt (as the system had come along with the vehicle being the top end version at that time). For the next two days I was running the system by pressing the front panel of the music system as it was getting disconnected with even a minor jerk of the road. To my horror, yesterday while driving on a dirt road (with major road repair) the front panel of the music system totally fell off and I had to take it to my local accessories provider. He opened the system in front of me and showed me that the front panel had broken in four pieces as it was taken out with improper handling and need complete changeover. All those four pieces were hanging in broken condition along with the main body. Now as I had sent my vehicle with complete music system in working condition, I need a complete new working music system from Blaupunkt either from Mahindra (as it was supplied along with the vehicle) or from GSP motors (as it has damaged the system) and action should also be taken on their electrician as he is totally incapable and I personally had complained against him earlier during onset of winters when I had visited this dealership during a free service checkup camp. At that time my rear windows had stopped working all of a sudden during washing and he was not able to get the same rectified and was asking to change complete lifting assembly and when I took my vehicle to the local accessories provider he found that the fuse had blown off.

I feel that Mahindra will look into all the three issues – changing of music system, supplying of boot lid opener switch to the dealer and providing proper solution to the air flowing assembly and not charging such a bulky amount promptly and will not allow any damage to its name and reputation it is trying to build. Neither I feel I shall be forced to send this mailer to your competitors or to new papers.
