Deficiency in service
Request for refund
Please allow me bring to your kind attention harassment, mental agony caused by supplying reconditioned defective TV - under warranty up to July 2012 and indifferent, careless, callous, evasive attitude of SONY service team towards its customers.
I purchased a SONY TV. It had defective BG2BOARD . After protracted follow-up, Sony India replaced defective TV and vide Bill No.11154409 dated 12.5.11 charged Rs.23, 632 towards repair/replacement of defective LCD.
At the time of installation itself, TV supplied by SONY vide Bill No.11154409 dated 12.5.11, it was brought to the notice of technician that there is problem in sound output. SONY INDIA. reacted that ' Itni Problem Nahin Hai' There is not much of problem. In other manner they agreed that there is problem in sound output. We were not reconciled why a new LED TV should have any problem with sound output.
We also requested SONY INDIA to please check the problem and incase TV set had some defect to replace it. There was no response from SONY. However, instead of flaring up the matter, we consoled ourselves and reconciled with the quality of voice.
Subsequently, Newpaper reports appeared about defect in LCD TVs supplied by Sony.It seems there is manufacturing defect in all the TVs supplied by SONY. But Sony instead of accepting the defect is indulging in denial and charging/fleecing its customers towards exorbitant repair charges.
TV supplied by SONY vide Bill No.11154409 dated 12.5.11 developed same problem as that was in the old TV. Complaint no.9552285 Dated 4.3.2012. followed by letter 5th March, 2012 was made. Service engineer advised that B- Board needs replacement. SONY informed that it will be repaired.
I have lodged complaint through website, e-mail, and also by post.
I had also lodged complaint on www.complaintboard.com. While browsing the complaintboard.com I found that there are numerous complaints against SONY and also defective supply of TVs by SONY. One such complaint is by Mr. manoj-gurgaon posted by him on 12.10.2011. His complaint no. with SONY is 8223146. The defect with TV set of Mr. Manoj is noted that of disappearance of colours. The same defect has also developed in our TV. This points that all TV sets supplied by SONY have manufacturing defect.
Not satisfied with repairs to a brand new TV which is giving trouble, May I request you to please intervene and take necessary action on priority to take back defective TV and refund Rs. 91,632 at the earliest.

Further to above,Please refer to my previous complaints by post, through website, e-mail etc. last being complaint no. 9621369 dated 14.03.2012 bringing to your kind attention harassment, mental agony caused by supplying reconditioned defective TV - under warranty up to July 2012 and indifferent, careless, callous, evasive attitude of SONY service team towards its customers.
I had also lodged complaint no 10819 dt. 14.03.2012 on www.icomplaints.in also.
On 14.03.2012 at around 16:45, a call was received from one Mr. Dinesh Mb. No. ********13) who informed that SONY has to replace BOARD for which he wishes to visit.
As already brought to your notice, SONY has supplied reconditioned TV by charging an exorbitant amount towards repair/replacement charges against a defective TV of SONY. It seems it is a tactic of SONY to supply defective TV, manage their maintenance up to warranty and after warranty expiry, charge exorbitant amounts innocent customers in the name of repairs.
Present TV which is having a manufacturing defect is under warranty up to July, 2012. Since it is a reconditioned TV having manufacturing defect, it is destined to develop one or the other problem/defect for repair after warranty, SONY will again demand unreasonable repair charges.
It seems SONY has lost its culture of customer satisfaction. Money making has taken precedence over quality. Customer satisfaction has been sidelined in the way SONY thinks about money making. May I advise SONY to read an article (in ECONOMIC TIMES dt. 15.03.2012) by GREG SMITH, ex-Goldman Sachs executive detailing reasons for downfall of Goldman Sachs
May I request SONY to please take necessary action on priority to take back defective TV and refund Rs. 91,632 at the earliest.
