I had purchased a Sony LED TV KDL-40HX750 in July 2012 . For a TV that costs 80,000 rupees all it took was 10 months for the display to conk !!! Am paying a price for not researching before buying as I have started hearing that this is a regular issue with Sony LED's.
The pain of course started after the complaint was filed ( 14204755 ). The technician visited a few days later on 23 May and confirmed the need to replace the display which would take 7 days minimum !!!! After that there was silence. Three calls to Sony Customer care later ( Each call takes nothing less than 10 minutes, so much for Japanese efficiency !! ) Still silence !! Eventually I get a call from the local Sony outsourced service centre " Sir the display will take some more time " on the 31st .
This is as much a complaint as a warning to future buyers. Stay away from Sony, their quality is a myth and service is absolutely not worth talking about. Now we all know why the Koreans have beaten them at their own game.
