I had purchased Samsung Galaxy S (I9000) on 18.08.2010 from Fine Connection, Mumbai. However on 5.10.2010, the speaker of the phone developed some problem and the voice began to crack.
Accordingly I had taken the handset along with the purchase bill to the nearest authorized service centre M/s. Mobile Technology located at Goregaon West Mumbai on 06.10.10. The person manning the counter told me that the speaker of the phone would be replaced and the repaired handset would be handed to me by tuesday 12.10.2010. and gave me work order bearing no. 5213 dated 06.10.2010.
However on 07.10.2010, i received a call from Mr. Sudhakar Diwvedi, stating that the Motherboard of the phone now needs to be replaced. I asked him rather than replacing the motherboard, kindly give me a new handset, as it was only a month and half since i had bought the phone.
Mr. Sudhakar said that its beyond his scope and asked me to call Mr. Raghu Patil who is the Area Sales Manager of Samsung Mobile (cell no. ********26), who after considerable request agreed to replace the faulty handset with a new one, and also assured that he would direct the service centre to complete the neccessary formalities and the new handset would be issued within 5 days i.e. by 12.10.2010.
On 12.10.2010, when i called the service centre, they said that it will take a 2 days more. This is where the harassment by service centre began. They keep on dillydallying the thing and then assured that on 20.10.2010 I can collect the handset. But while confirmimng whether the handset has arrived on 20.10.2010, they said that it will arrive by next day morning i.e. on 21.10.2010.
Fed up by this unprofessional attitude, I visited the Service Centra on 22.10.2010 to collect the Handset. However, I was surprised by Mr. Sudhakar who said the the repaired handset is still having the problem as it is not able to identify the memory card slot. I told him, that I was suppose to get a new handset and not the repaired one.
Mr. Sudhakar however, said that he will try for getting the handset replaced and give it to me on 26.10.2010. As on date i.e. 26.10.2010, when I visited the service centre for the third time, to collect the handset, I was told that
1. Mr. Sudhakar is absent.
2. When I enquired about the new handset or Delivery order to collect the same. I got a blank response.
3. I asked them to return the original handset as it is; I was told that Mr. Sudhakar has the keys to the locker where the phone is kept.
Now they have asked to come back tommorrow.
Kindly help me in the matter, as I already have taken 2 days leave just to collect the phone, either by getting the handset replaced by a new one or refund of the entire invoice amount I paid for the phone.
Thanks Mohit for writing in.
Even though they promised that they will deliver the handset to my residence on 27.10.10 and confirmed the same, they as expected didn't turn up.
As far as your handset is concerned, there is no replacment with a new phone. As such they will just replace the motherboard and all the components keeping the skin as it is. Better give it for repairs ASAP
