I have a SONY Bravia LED TV purchased on Sep 2011. On Nov 7th, I started getting green patches on the screen off and on for few minutes... then later, the whole picture went green. I registered a complaint with Sony India customer care on the 8th of Nov (SR # 16564046). On 9th Nov, I got an SMS saying that the call has been assigned to Easwari Enterprises, Chennai.
11th Nov - Service engineer from Easwari Enterprises visited and checked the TV (just used the remote and switched it on and viewed the image) and said that there is a problem with the board and it has to be replaced. He gave an estimate of Rs 10000 for repair and said he'd place the order for the board if we give a go-ahead. He estimated a duration of 1 week for the part to arrive and fix the issue.
No updates from service center till 21st Nov even after multiple follow ups. Every time I was given the same answer saying that the part has not arrived and they do not know when it would arrive. On 21st Nov, I was told that the part will arrive on 23rd Nov and they would fix it on the same day.
Nov 23rd - Nobody from service center called or showed up till late afternoon. On calling them again, I was told that the order got "cancelled" (not sure if that means the part is not available!!! they did not provide a clear answer to that question). I was asked to provide a copy of the bill so that they could contact the Head Office to get an "alternate solution".
I was upset by the lack of accountability from service center so I called sony customer care again and expressed my concern that I'm not satisfied with the service center and also to escalate the issue and provide a solution at the earliest. It has been 3 weeks without TV at home.
I was told by SONY customer care, that someone from Sony India Service Team will call me within 48 hours. NOBODY called me till 26th Nov. On 25th Nov, Easwari Enterprises called me again for a copy of the bill and I sent a scanned copy by mail to them.
26th Nov - Called up SONY India Customer Care again... Escalated the issue.. Same response saying that issue will be taken care.. The rep created a new service request (SR 16816063) and said that this would get the attention for senior management as the issue has been open for long and assured call back from SONY within 48 hours....
29th Nov - No call from SONY yet. Called Customer care again .. to hear the same story.. that somebody will call in another 24 hrs...
My request to all ... DO NOT BUY SONY PRODUCTS... THEIR SERVICE IS VERY POOR.. THEY DONT GIVE A DAMN ABOUT CONSUMERS... I spent Rs 70000 on this TV and to my HORROR, now I realize that all BRAVIA TVs have some problem within 2 to 3 years. I AM GOING TO TAKE THIS UP WITH THE CONSUMER COURT as there has been no solution provided to my issue even after 3 weeks... I want my money back as its not worth paying premium amount on SONY products with no service support available after purchase...
SONY SERVICE IS ATROCIOUSLY POOR!!!!
This is true. i got the same kind of problem in the BRAVIA 32 inch LED TV. I have purchased for Rs. 38000 and now i have given the TV to service centre three times and still the same problem exists. I almost spend Rs. 4000/- for replacing a CHIP and finally i didnt get the TV working. It is still in at Sony service centre and i got the first problem on first week of April 2013. Till now after replacement and software update the problem persists. i almost annoyed with the sony services and the failure of the Sony TV.
