This complaint has been filed because of dissatisfaction at the poor service provided by Samsung Refrigerators. My complaint number is ********68. My fridge has not been cooling properly since 15th May and I have so far made 8 calls to customer service, had one live chat with an operative, had four unprofitable visits and spent 1820 rupees on various \'causes\' which yielded no result. It is now the first of June and the complaint is still open. Meanwhile after assurances that all was well, I had stocked up on groceries and fish which had to be thrown out the next day. This happened twice. I understand now that Samsung service cannot do anything - I want my money back since they were completely useless and wasted hours of my time.

The first visit was by a moron named Vinay who said there was nothing wrong with the fridge. Repeated pleadings with him made him send a guy to refill gas though there was nothing wrong with the gas levels. Since the guy came all the way from wherever, he wanted to fill the gas anyway though he himself said it was probably not required but he couldn\'t be sure. The charge was Rs1200. He also said that it was a fan motor problem which the earlier idiot had failed to diagnose. Many calls and a week later, Vinay shows up and fits the fan motor and presents us a bill for 620 which I refused to pay. I also wrote a complaint on his service form. I said I would pay only after the fridge worked.

The very next day, a senior guy , Sridhar, pops up , acted like he checked the whole thing and asked for money after guaranteeing that all was working. I paid him and saw after 24 hrs that there was no cooling or freezing. Repeated calls to the call centre yielded no result . S0 I registered on the samsung site and chatted with Anurag, a representative who got me into a conference call with some medium-level guy call Rangaswamy who promised that action would be taken the very next day. Surprisingly Sridhar again turns up the next day , spends 15 minutes - announces that Vinay had \"fitted the fan motor upside-down\" (his very words). I asked him how it was possible and why he did not check for improper fitting when he had come a week earlier. No answer. He goes off happily and my fridge which up till then had been cooling intermittently , totally conked off. It is now a cupboard. More calls yielded rude responses and a promise to cart the fridge off to a workshop which i did not agree to. Meanwhile I called Rangaswamy again to be told that he does not remember having spoken to me and then given the number of a Devaiah who was having lunch and who promised to call in thirty minutes. That was yesterday at 2. No call or action occurred.

I am thoroughly disgusted with Samsung. If they had told me they did not know what to do, I would not have spent money needlessly and could have brought a fridge at the exchange option then available. Now there is no such option and i will get nothing for this fridge and may have to keep it around the house for storing newspapers. Their attirude is pathetic, their knowledge non-existent and their service incompetent. Since this pervades from the top level of management downwards , I expect my complaint to have no effect - still I wish more people to be aware of these crooks and refrain from buying a Samsung fridge. Let them know the power of the customer.
