dear sir

This is regarding awareness about train boarding rules of Indian railways.

i bought a ticket from Mumbai to Hazrat Nizamuddin. The date of journey was June 19,2010. The train no 2953 ( august kranti rajdhani express) . The PNR 834-2863951. The ticket was issued under RAC which was confirmed and allotted accomodation in Coach A2 bearth 48.

I did choose baording destination \"Bharuch\"at the time of booking. But due to some reason i boarded the train at Vapi.

as a result i was penalised to amount of 1670/- ( receipt no. K 433539)saying that i am not authorised to baord the train before Bharuch even if i have paid for the entire journey. i was told that boarding before bording station is treated as a ticketless.

I want to know is that right?

if it is right where this rule is defined?

The said train is ISO 9001 certified. where is customer communicatiuon about such rules?

Should not the railway publish such rules on back side of the ticket instead of ads?

I am travelling from Jaipur to Bhopal train No 19713 got ticket Rac 31 TC has alloted same coach S 9 birth No 5 I moved immediately before Kota reach 20 minutes before I was shocked one passenger came at Kota station he said he is the one for birth no 5 after that tried UK contact TC didn't find when we train reach at Nagda station again tried to contact TC ultimately TC met but he said he is attending to accept coaches I explained him he checked in chart I was allowed to travel in both No 5 but I was told if passenger board from kota he can't do any thing as per rules
I WANF TO KNOW THEN WHY TC ALLOTED AS PER MY KNOWLESGE TC CAN WAIT EITHER 3 STATION OR 150 KM AFTER THAT HE CAN CANCLE RESVATION

What kind of stupid question you are asking bro?how can you board before the station,if railway Will allow this every passenger is going to buy tickets for nearest station of their destination and bord from farmost station. Got my point?

I had prepared a ticket from H.Nizamudin to Maduari Jn and in The reservation form I had filled from boarding at Jhansi Jn to Madurai but the ticket printed by Railway Authority H. Nizamuddin to Madurai means boarding from H.Nizamuddin. Request amend the same

No, I am not sure this is right. As per the rules the ticket allows you to make a complete journey from start to end, from boarding point you will only be allowed to have the seat. If i am not wrong you can make journey on any train from mumbai to bharuch in the same class but you will not be promised a seat during this journey.

Is the birth is reserved untill the next stoppage station of train .

oops! faced the same music, and only for 41 kms ( 1 station) Madgoan to Karmali . The TTE acted as GOD. Obliged me and did charge me penalty (neither took any bribe). But is'nt it stupid that the trains empty the berth cannot be occupied for 1 station and after having paid for my tkt from Madgoan (boarding at Karmali) i am treated as tkt-less. Now come-on if there is a change of plan, i shld at least get some benefit like if the seat/berth is not allocated. Think of it If i had not approached the TTE - he would never have known that i had boarded at the previous stn. b'coz he came in the compartment after crossing Karmali. It's simply ridiculous and the rules are been made for the benefits of the EMPLOYEES of Indian Railways not the ORGANISATION. Rules are never displayed. It works like a LALA company (with all due respects) and the employees make monies while the railways bleed.
