LG LCD TV BOUGHT BY ME FROM LG 'S NASIK ( MAHARASHTRA) DEALER M/S MADHU ELECTRONICS, SHARANPUR ROAD , NASHIK HAS DEVELOPED DISPLAY PROBLEM. THE PROBLEM OCCURRED JUST AFTER 12 MONTHS WARRANTY PERIOD EXPIRED, AS IF THE COMPANY HAD PROGRAMMED IT ! WHEN I TRIED TO CONTACT NASIK DEALER , HE ARROGANTLY REPLIED THAT I WILL HAVE TO BEAR REPAIR / SERVICING CHARGES AMOUTING TO Rs. 13,000/- AND EVEN AFTER PAYING SUCH HUGE AMOUNT, THE DISPLAY PANEL WILL HAVE ONLY 12 MONTHS WARRANTY.
IT IS SURPRISING THAT TV COSTING Rs. 45,000 CAN DEVELOP SUCH PROBLEM WITHIN SUCH A SHORT TIME. IN THE FIRST PLACE, WARRANTY CARD WAS NEVER STAMPED BY DEALER. ANOTHER MOOT POINT IS HOW CAN THE WARRANTY BE FOR JUST 12 MONTHS WHEN USEFUL LIFE OF SUCH COSTLY GOODS IS AT LEAST 5 YEARS. , DEALER & SERVICE CENTRE ARE IN HAND-IN-GLOVE TO FLEECE CONSUMER. NOW THE SERVICE CENTRE HAS DECLINED TO SEVICE AND DELIVER THE TV UNLESS Rs. 13,000/- IS PAID. A MNC COMPANY IS NOT SUPPOSED TO FLEECE CONSUMERS. NOW I WANT A REPLACEMENT OR REFUND OF MONEY AS I HAVE LOST FAITH IN LG PRODUCTS. ADDED TO THIS, THE PURCHASE WAS FINANCED BY BAJAJ FINSERV LTD , WHO HAVE COLLECTED Rs. 41,200/- SO FAR. SINCE THE PRODUCT IS NOT IN MY POSSESSION, THE FINANCIER HAS NO RIGHT TO COLLECT REMAINING MONEY AND BAJAJ FINSERV SHOULD REFUND THE MONEY ALREADY COLLECTED BY THEM.
NOW I AM BEING THREATENED BY RECOVERY AGENTS OF BAJAJ FINSERV THROUGH PHONE.
i bought an LG lcd lg tv about 4 years back. now it suddenly started displaying only black & white instead of colour picture. with a complaint to the local lg service centre a techie promptly arrived who declared the problem was with the "AV section" as; the hdmi section was giving colour pic from the dvd without any problem.after afew days, the guys called me to say that the "board' is rs.4400 and their service charge is 600+!! take it or leave it! this is amazing that the LG company does not sell their spares to the market and what ever is decided by the techie about what went wrong in the system is final and the price of the spare can not be questioned! is it because we allow all sorts of companies to dictate terms to the consumers in India? as no one questions them or challenges them or their dealers who have a strangle hold in the market and we do not resort to complaining to the consumer courts to verify the fancy prices in India compared to the international prices?
