I used a braodband internet connection from airtel. my dsl number was 0********28. On June 20th i was been called by a CC to upgrade my internet conneciton i accepted for the same to 599 to 699 or so but on June 25th 2010 my laptop got a major problem (mother board burnt) so i called up airtel customer care to disconnect the internet connection, but the c'care person suggested me that there is an option call Safe Custody, by which i just have to pay only Rs.200 per month and get back the internet connection whenever my laptop got repaired. i thought for a while and accepted to go with that option.
But still i was getting the bills with full amount charged, i repeatedly called them to
and asked them why i been charged full then they said that Safe Custody is't been activated for me and there is a procedure to go for activating safe custody option, But please tell me sir how would i know that there is a different procedure to go for that untill i was been cleared told.
Once more issue made this to drive to another direction, my bill amount due by June 26th was Rs.706, which paid online, but it was not posted to Airtel immediately, so i got a call from airtel CC to pay the bill, after me telling that i have paid already .. they(CC) suggested me to contact the bank why amount is not posted.
Since then I have followed up the bank almost every day to credit(pay) the amount asap.. this took some time and later the amount is been paid by the bank to airtel.
Airtel charged full amount and sent me the bill for all this time, as this took a months or so, and when i called they say the same story that safe custody is not activated and they charged full amount.
I have sent all the details the reference id's to 121@airtel.in and to other mail id given by CC several times. but they are adamant on the same and asking to pay.
i told i cannot pay for which i did not use, and asked them check if a single byte of internet usage has been notice on this connection.
Now after 6 months i got a lawyer notice to pay the bill without any prior notice.
One thing i want to ask if the CC executive does not told me the procedure to avail safe custody option how can i know. and if do not enter the safe custody request from customer to the reference id what can i do sir.
