I had booked e-tickets on IRCTC site for my parents (Senior citizens) couple of weeks ago under PNR # : 4118359115 both tickets were very much CONFIRMED ; they were to travel to Coimbatore this morning (via Intercity BLR-Ernakulam - 2677).

However once they got onto the train I called to check on them and that was when they told me that they were told by the TTR that the ticket they were holding consisted of only 1 berth and that they were asked to adjust with the same....how could that be when tickets were very much confirmed having clear seat and coach numbers with SU mentioned on it?

Besides this incident I believe there was another old couple who were travelling along with them and to whom the TTR insisted that they paid a fine of Rs. 50 only because the printout they carried was not clear enough...

This is seriously offensive and ridiculous - how could these kind of misdoings by railway officials be acceptable?
This is a clear indication that the TTRs are making money for themselves by giving lame excuses, selling seats & berths of existing passengers to others.

Complainant's Goal: There need to be an end to such misdoings
