Complaint by: Ajay on March 1, 2011, 3:35 pm in Indian Railways

My parents were traveling in the 2nd AC compartment HA1 from Hyderabad to Mumbai on 28th Feb. They had gold jewelery and watches worth over 1L, which they kept in a small pouch inside my mother's purse before sleeping. My mother kept the purse next to her head before going to the sleep and when she woke up in the morning the pouch containing the jewelery and Rs. 3000 were missing from her purse.

Upon talking with fellow passengers it was found that the doors of their compartments were open most of the night. Its the responsibility of the Police officer on duty and the compartment attendant to ensure that the doors are locked from inside except when the train is approaching any station. And I strongly feel that this kind of theft can not happen without the support from the compartment attendant and the ignorance from the police officer on duty.

I would like due action taken against the police officer on-duty on that train and the compartment attendant of that compartment to be investigated thoroughly.

Complainant's Goal: I would like the Railway police to find the thieves and their accomplice ASAP.
