Subject: TDR refund not received for PNR ********89, letter no : BWC090614V03556

Sir,

I booked 3 tickets (under PNR ********89 thru IRCTC.co.in, for Family) from Jabalpur to Pune for 2nd June 2014 and all three were wait listed. The chart was prepared just 1 -1.5 hr before the scheduled departure of the train and after which one passenger had been promoted to RAC and other two remained wait listed. Since I was suppose to travel with my wife and 5 year old kid and we had 1 RAC and 2 wait listed tickets, none of us traveled. I filed the TDR thru IRCTC immediately before the actual departure of the train.

For almost 15 days after which we contacted IRCTC. IRCTC came back to us on 21st June with below reply

We contacted the IRCTC's TDR team at the email address given above and they responded back saying we have forwarded your query to the concerned department.

On 5th August my father visited the General Manager's office at Jabalpur Railway station where first he was told that we need to contact Delhi office then was told to contact Mumbai office, nothing can be done from Jabalpur office. After requesting the staff over there investigated the case further and told that this case should have been forwarded to Mumbai office but looks like has not been done till today. The staff then told that she has forwarded the case to Mumbai office and now we need to contact Railways Mumbai office as well as IRCTC.

I couldn't find any email to contact the Mumbai railway office and have already contacted IRCTC without any luck. Hence I am writing to you with the hope of getting it resolved as soon as possible. Request you to kindly process the refund.

Regards
Nikhil Suhane

I have also been experiencing such type of problem with Indian Railways. About more than one year back I had cancelled AC tickets due to non availability of room and filed TDR. After about one year I have received letter from the Railways that your case is forwarded to concerned railways. Till writing I have not received the refund of my cancelled ticket. I take this opportunity to request the competent authorities of railway to please throw a light to this direction to avoid inordinate delay in refunding the charges of the ticket cancelled due to non availability of confirmed tickets.
