We purchased furniture worth around 40,000 rupees from Big Bazaar located in old madras road, Bangalore on 28-Nov-2010. The bill number is 20********. We purchased a sofa set, a computer chair and a computer table. We were promised delivery of the goods within 14 days of purchase. We didn't get any of the items delivered to us within this period. On repeated reminders to them, we finally got the computer chair and computer table delivered to us. But the sofa set is yet to arrive (today is 26-Dec-2010) and we are completely frustrated about our experience with Big Bazaar. How can they take us for a ride like this? Isn't big-bazaar a wannabe Wal-Mart?
There is one Mr. Kumar who keeps promising us that the delivery will happen in the next few days or the next week. He is an elusive character who says he will call us back and confirm the delivery date but never keeps his word. We always have to call him and "chase him" to commit a date. Last week, he told me that we would get the sofa set by 26th. I warned him sternly that either he should keep his word and deliver by 26th or refund our money. He agreed to refund if not delivered by 26th. Now, here i am on 26th and when we called big bazaar number given to us (080-40907318), i am told that he has gone on a leave for Christmas. Then a person named Arun told us that he will check in the store department and get back in 15 minutes. But it has been several hours now and still no response from them.
Why did Mr. Kumar give 26th as the date when he himself would be out of office? When will we get our furniture? What kind of service is this? Why does big bazaar employ such chameleons (i.e. kumar)?

Hi Nagesh,
Send a detailed complaint along with the names of the employees who misbehaved with you to sharewithus@fvrl.in . This is what i did and within a week my problem was solved.
All the best!
Thanks.
I had a terrible experience with Big Bazaar (BB) Old Madras Road, Bangalore. I would suggest that no one ever purchase any furniture’s from BB.
I ordered and made payment for Marvel Sofa set (3+1+1), matching Diwan and centre table on 31-Dec-2010. BB promised to deliver it within 48 hours. We got the mismatched Sofa set on 01-Jan-2010, along with Diwan and Centre table. We immediately notified their mistake. Thanks to their crap approval system, we ordered the Sofa set again on 03-Jan-2010 on a payment of Rs. 5000 extra. (Quoting the price of the correct Sofa set is Rs. 5000 more than the delivered sofa set.) BB guys promised that they would take away the wrong Sofa set on 04-Jan-2010 and deliver us the correct Sofa set on 05-Jan-2010 or latest by 06-Jan-2010. Neither they called to inform the status nor did they took the wrong sofa set or delivered the correct sofa set till 06-Jan-2010. Upon making at least 20 calls to BB guys and 2 extra trips to BB, they delivered us demo piece on 07-Jan-2010. We didn’t accept the demo piece and sent it back to them.
Initially we dealt with Ms. Lakshmi (Asst Manager), who does not know how to deal with or rather speak to customers. She shouts at us and does not listen to our concerns, forget about addressing them. We took our issue to her higher up, so called customer-relation office or something, Mr Arun. After the usual “I will look into this matter. Sorry for the delay and furniture would be sent today by 9:30pm†the typical crap. They called to say it wouldnot be possible to deliver until the next day. Missing the deadline, he is now forcing us to accept the demo piece.
When we had placed the order on 31-Dec-2010 or again on 03-Jan-2011, they should have informed us that we shall not be getting a box piece. On demanding a box piece, suddenly Mr. Arun decides to give a refund, which will take another 6 days for processing, Instead of apologizing and sending us the sofa set.
Our time, energy, money and petrol (3 extra trips to BB) are all spent and not to forget the harassment by Ms. Lakshmi and false promises by Mr. Arun. We don’t know when will we get out sofa or money back!!!!
