For purchasing soft drinks, such as Pepsi , 7up, sprite etc from Zero Degree using Sodexo , consumer has to pay extra money, if we are paying through Sodexo.
Today(01/05/2010) on the May Day, I purchased one 7up 500ml bottle from Zero Degree outlet in Food Court, Thejaswini Building, TechnoPark, Trivandrum. I had to pay 27 rupees instead of 25(Actual MRP) , just because I made the payment through Sodexo.
As per the Rules written on the backside of each Sodexo, Sodexo is valid only for ready to eat items, food and non-alcoholic beverages at eating joints or outlets affiliated to Sodexo. No charge or cash can be taken in exchange.
This is to bring to your notice that certain retail outlets which are otherwise accepting Sodexho gift passes are refusing to do so when the same product is under some scheme or is selling at a discount. Their contention is these are acceptable only when a customer purchases at MRP.
This is not a right policy to retrict its use in certain periods like sale or when any product is purchased at discounted under any scheme. Neither Sodexho nor our employer is doing any favour by issuing this Gift pass. Its just our salary money part of which come in form of Gift pass instead of Cash to save some nominal amount of Tax. No other benefits in form of discount or other priviliges follow from these gift passes. As such it shud b accepted like cash and have the same purchasing power as cash in outlets where its accepted.
How can they distinguish between sale time and other time and say that “ it can b accepted here but only if u purchase a product at MRP. “
If this be the value of Sodexho Gift pass, then I think we would rather save more if we forgo some tax and get cash from employers rather than opting for Sodexho passes.

Yesterday (10/03/11) i used my sodexo meal pass in Murugan Margin free supermarket which is located in Guduvancheri. The total value of the bill is only Rs.328/-. But they charged me for Rs.342/-. Even the sodexo pass is tax free for the users the merchants are taking tax from the buyers pocket.
