Sir/Madam,
I (along with thousands of others) are regular weekend travellers between Bangalore and Ernakulam. there are thousands of youngsters like me who work in Bangalore and commute to our home town over the weekend. the passenger traffic on this route is extremely high especially over the weekend (Friday from Bangalore to ernakulam and Sunday from Ernakulam to Bangalore). we regularly take the Sunday train from Ernakulam to Bangalore (train # 12683). getting tickets is extremely difficult in this train on sundays and it is always overbooked. For e.g for this weekend the W/L is 150. Now the railways has all of a sudden decided to cancel this train effective from July 2011. the reason given for this is "Technical reasons". this does not justify it. We all know that the bus lobby is very strong and they are trying their best to ensure that the railways does not eat into their profits. They know that they can run condenmed buses, demand exorbitant fares and yet there would be people to avail their facility. We would request you to restore this train service (Train # 12683).
Regards,
Santhosh
Hi,
I too agree with santosh. This is being very comfortable and convenient train but it has been rescheduled to monday were there would be less traffic. Busses are not comfortable for journey of 550 Kms although the price is high. Railways should consider the pains of passengers for this route. Island express is a slow train and it is proper for passengers from trivandrum till ern. there was a campaign in the train by some volunteers for the train reschedulement on 22-05 and I have voted to revert the train back to present schedule, when asked the reason to the volunteer he said that due to technical reason or some buses demand but dint have a proper reply.
Mr. Santhosh, I completely agree with you on this. Indian Railways should kindly consider the requests of thousands of passengers to get this train back as usual on Sundays. Lets get together to do our bit and act to end the bus lobby or whatever "Technical reason".
