I was travelling in Trivandrum Express (Train No 12695) on 12/05/2012 with my family in AC III class.(B3 Coach, Four of us in No.49-56)
While the travel went on as usual, at the time of arrinving in Trivandrum, we found that two of our luggages were torn by rats. The bags were bitten so badly that we had much difficulty in carrying them from Trivandrum Railway Station to the Hotel.
As a result of the same, we have to discard the torned luggages and buy a fresh ones immediately on arrival. I have lost costly bags valued around Rs.2000 and had to buy new bags for Rs.1500.
It is astonishing that Rats find a way in AC compartment also. The travelling which we hoped to enjoy were spoiled by rats and irresponsible southern railway.
I have attached a sample photo for your reference.
I sincerely hope southern railway will do something on this. Otherwise, there is every likelyhood of passengers getting plague or the likelihood of losing their valuable luggages.
