This complaint is against SBI. I am operating SB Account No 20035247564 in SBI Kathua (J&K). During Apr 10 I had gone on few days leave at Jammu. On 7 Apr 10 at about 1615 hours I used my ATM card at Bhahu Plaza Jammu for with drawal of money. Since the ATM machine was not accepting the ATM Car and was showing the massage as \"Invalid card\" repeatedly a two young boy came forward for help. They took my ATM card and put some saliva and swiped it. The machine did not accept it. They again tried two three times and finally the machine accepted it. They asked me to enter the PIN which I did. In this process they replaced my ATM card and gave another one of sbi card. I did not notice it.
On 09 Apr 10 when I used this card and found that it was blocked. I rang up the bank manager Kathua who informed that my card has not been blocked and Rs 80,000/= has been with drawn from my acct on 07 Apr and 9th Apr 10. I immediately got my atm cardblocked and lodged an FIR with PS Trikutta Nagar Jammu.
My complaint is that as to why ATM machines are showing such messages whereby customers are forced to take help from other customers? Why a guard is not posted at each ATM for the security of customer and helping out the customers for such fualts on the machine when all other banks have posted guards at the ATM? Under these circumstances what is the liabilities of the SBI?
