Complaint by: Komal on April 23, 2011, 1:39 pm in Travel and Vacations

My father has approached coz and kings for a US trip during the month of June.
The kind of attention and service is very dissatisfactory.
He has been visiting the jayanagar branch from the last 1 month for package details and Visa preparations.
His Visa interview was scheduled on 20th april and it got rejected.
The team at coz & kings confirmed to him that all his documents were accurate and all the needful was done. But unfortunately the visa was rejected.
And post rejection the level of support that was given to him by the team was hopeless. He was made to wait for 2 hrs at the office just to get another form for rework. This is ridiculous. If this is the way customers are to br treated, then we should rather approach better skilled tours and travels with a professional attitude.
If this complaint is not taken care of, I will be escalating this further.

This is w.r.t to my recent trip to Singapore and Malaysia. Please find below my feedback points
I seriously rate Cox and Kings as “ZERO” rating, Cheaters, Irresponsible and it is a 3rd Class travel agent. The money we spent here is absolutely non justifiable. It’s better to go for local travel agent rather than going to stupid traveler agent like Cox and Kings.
Below is the issues faced and I need clear explanation for this –
1. There is no proper guidance or complete information from Anna Nagar Chennai Cox and Kings Team about the complete tour package
a. We are not given guidance on the return flight from Malaysia / Singapore to Chennai. Instead the flight was booked from Singapore and we had to travel from Malaysia to Singapore and then to Chennai which took almost 16hrs of Journey. If proper guidance has been provided by Anna Nagar – We would have taken appropriate decision w.r.t this. This is clearly Irresponsible behavior.
b. I clearly mentioned Anna Nagar Team to charge me in Chennai Itself for all the places which they are going to cover us in Singapore and Malaysia. But after reaching there they specified few places are not included we have to spend. For eg: It nary clearly say’s Singapore Flyer, KL Tower. Again we had spent money there. This is absolutely cheating behavior.
c. I had made an early warning to Anna Nagar Team that I’m not happy with Hotels booked and asked them to change before I depart itself. They are not even bothered to check on this and claimed me that it can change once I reached Singapore or Malaysia if there are any issues.
2. There is no representation from Cox and Kings at the Singapore Airport
a. There is no response from the Tour Leader/ Tour Manager the moment we stepped into the Singapore Airport and had to wait for almost 1.5hrs at the Airport Lobby for the Tour Leader/Guide. Also, the tour leader is neither interested in calling us and confirming where we are on and there are no ply cards available outside the airport. We really had to search for them by shelling out huge money with Cox and Kings. This shows the stupid and irresponsible behavior from Cox and Kings Team.
3. No Proper Guide during our Return
a. We were explicitly told clearly that there will be guide from Singapore Airport to drop back to Singapore Airport. But this didn’t happened. We were given Local Tourist Bus in Malaysia to Transit to Singapore and Local Taxi to Transit to Airport alone. There is no Guide available. This has not been clearly mentioned in the It nary and planned all of sudden. I seriously don’t understand why these things are not clearly discussed before. The guide departed from Malaysia to other country. This is really unethical way and irresponsible behavior from a renowned Cox and Kings.

4. Hotel Rooms and Accommodation
a. We reached airport morning 8am and reached hotel at 10:30am and the rooms are not allocated till 2:00pm. Neither the Anna Nagar Team has responsibility to inform us about this. We were waiting in the Lobby for till 2:00pm to get the rooms. Why is this not informed to us before by Cox and Kings Team and the tour is not planned accordingly. Is the Cox and Kings team thinking the travelers are “baggers”?
b. The hotel rooms provided in Singapore and Malaysia are sheer like beggars room. You can stay in Lodge rather than these rooms.
i. In Singapore – “Cultural Hotel” – Normal Lodge is better than this. No AC. Rooms and bathrooms are dirty. The staff at the hotel is not dignified.
ii. In Malaysia - “Pearl International “– Looks only it appears. You see Cockroaches in your room, Phone doesn’t work, and bathroom flush doesn’t work. We had given complaint for more than 5 to 7 times. But no response
5. The local guide in Singapore is better. But local guide in Malaysia is non sense and not respectful. He is commanding as if we are bound with him. He had neither provided proper information in Malaysia or anything.

I need clear explanations for this, otherwise I shall be going to consumer court for cheating us on the same.

Dear Komal,

Thank you for writing in. Granting/ Rejection of a Visa is at the discretion of the Diplomatic institution handling the case. Reapplication for a visa is purely the client's decision and is treated as a new application. Cox & Kings cannot be held responsible should it get rejected again.

Regards,
