I BOOKED A TICKET ON FLIGHT IC - 571 CHENNAI TO MUMBAI @ RS. 5574.00 AT YATRA ON 19TH JAN.
MY ACCOUNT WAS DEVITTED RS. 5574 IMMEDIATELY

SINCE I DID NOT GET ANY INFORMATION, I IMMEDIATELY SENT A MAIL TO YATRA GIVING BOTH DETAILS - FLIGHT DETAILS AND PAYMENT CONFIRMATION.

FOR 24 HOURS THERE WAS NO RESPONSE - TILL THAT TIME THE FARE WAS SAME.
AFTER THE FARE CHANGED THEY INFORMED THAT MY BOOKING WAS NOT MADE AND ASKED ME TO REBOOK THE TICKET.
AS FOR THE REFUNDS THEY INFORMED THAT IT WILL TAKE UPTO 8 DAYS TIME.

MY COMPLAINT IS :

1. If at all due to any technical problem the ticket was not booked - on having the flight details and the payment details why Yatra could not book / confirm my ticket despite my requests thru email as well as thru their call centre as for the next 24 hrs the fare was same. I can prove it as have kept and recorded the necessary details to prove this.

2. If the ticket is not booked why the refund is not made immediately- why do they need upto 3 weeks [ this is the time frame they mention in their automated email ] What are the RBI guidelines for such refunds.

3. Who will bear the losses - As Icould not get the said ticket due to this delay and in turn I had to cancel my onward journey ticket and make alternage arrangements for Travelling back.

4. Can I file a suit against Yatra in the cnosumer court at Baroda.

I beleive that this is a kind of systemic fraud using big words as techinica error, system problems and all.

The Modus operandi seems like:

1. Offer cheap fares to lure the customer and take money.
2. Inform the customer that the booking has not been made due to a technical error and ask him to rebook.
3. When the customer goes to Re-book the fares have changed.
4. Retain the original money paid by the customer for 8-10 days as this funds are at their diposal as this funds am sure will not be going to the Airlines as the tickets are not booked.

In my case its apparent that Yatra was not at all interested to book my ticket at the fare which I had booked, had the intention been there it could have been easily done.
