Damage to laptop due to faulty power supply in AC 2 Tier Travel
Dear Sir
I recently travelled from Mumbai CST to Jalna on 19 Feb 09 by Devagiri Express ( Train No 7057) by AC II Tier.
I plugged in my Sony VIAO laptop for charging at the 110 V AC point provided near my seat. Within minutes my charger stopped functioning. I had some important data that I was due to present in Jalna, which I could not achieve as my laptop was not functional due to low battery. This lead me to be in a very embarrassing position.
Upon reaching Jalna I got the charger examined and it was confirmed that it was damaged due to faulty power supply. I have now had to replace my charger in Mumbai, something that has costed me Rs 5200.
Though the loss I have incurred due to damage to my charger is much more than monetary, I request you to reimburse the cost I have incurred in replacing my charger (Rs 5200). I would also request you to regularly check the power supply provided in trains to avoid these kind of instances again.
Regards
Lt Cdr Amit Batra
