I have had the worst experience in my life with Big Bazar, Udupi. I am a regular shopper at their stores at Udupi, near TMA Pai Hospital. I had visited their store on 03rd July 2013 and as usual purchased my household items and went home, to my surprise when I reached home and checked the bill and verified with the items purchased I found out that there was an item with a unique code costing Rs.530.00 which I have not purchased. The code was 'EAR GEO RD 530' I called up the store and asked them about this item, they said that there was no such code and I was asked to produce the bill. I went there personally the next day leaving all my work and showed them the bill, they were stunned because such item did not exist at all, they confirmed that it was a wrong entry. I asked for the refund, at first they said they don't have cash, then they said buy some other item to adjust this amount, then they said they will issue a credit note, but when I said nothing doing I want cash only, that's when they refunded me the amount. I am 100% sure this is cheating and they must be doing this regularly, the fictitious product code is created for this purpose only, if the customer does not turn up adjust the amount by issuing a credit note and pocket the money and share among themselves, I am sure all are involved. Please check. For your reference please note my Receipt No.0016374 St:4803 Ch:249379 Tr:18780 Cashier Name: Chethan Time - 18:43
The bill is on thermal paper and does not print clearly.
Also please note there are expired goods sold openly, my cousin once got expired cup noodles with worms in it.

Hi Archie,

I had purchased few items in Big Bazaar, Mangalore (The one near KSRTC Bus stand).. Out of it I had purchased a Pack of Handkerchiefs and pack of a Vest..When i opened the pack at home I realized that There was a unit less in each pack..I know the amount might be less, but what if its the same case with all of those packs present in that particular outlet..I worked with one of the worlds top retailer and I feel sad when I see something like this from a retailer like Big Bazaar...I never faced such issue in Bangalore outlet
