Gulf Air - TOLD ON THE DAY OF MY FLIGHT THAT GULF AIR NO LONGER FLY TO IRAN

I booked flights to Iran via Dubai for my father and i 3 months in advance. I went to check in my luggage on July 15th and i was told that Gulf Air no longer fly to Iran, when i asked them why i was not informed of this earlier they simply said that they would have sent you an email however, being a university student i check my emails on a daily basis and had not received any such email. I asked them for a refund on the spot so i can book flights with a more reliable airline i.e Emirates and they told me i have to go through the head office for this. As i result i ended up pay double what i should have paid because the idiots at Gulf didn't bother informing me and i had to buy last minute tickets during peak season. As i result i had less spending money and was stranded in Dubai airport for 8 hours. The best part was the text message notification informing me that i had a flight due for that day, makes you wonder huh. I also checked in online for the first half of the trip (Dubai to Bahrain) yet i was unable to check in online for the second half but, still had no idea why this was. Im absolutely disgusted with Gulf Airlines, i received my refund 4 weeks later AFTER i notified them and have not been given any kind of compensation or an apology about this matter.
