On 19th Nov.2012 I traveled from Delhi to Vadodara by 12450 Goa Sampark Kranti Express with my family.Due to non availability of Reservation I had to travel in general class. This train have only 1 stop between Delhi and Vadodara. The passengers compulsory have to buy eatables from pantry car staff. I ordered for 2 Veg pulav. They supplied me and demanded Rs.160/-. I asked for rate card. The delivery man didn't have.He accepted that he charges RS.10/- extra per dish. He could not produce the rate card to me. He argued that in General class they have to give special service!!!. After a lot argument he took Rs.140/- from me. After then some co passenger informed me that actual price is Rs. 50/- per dish. Thus he took Rs.40/- excess. I feel the railway must display rate card in every coach.

Hi,

I was travelling with my family in train number 12859 Gitanjali Express on 31.12.2013 from Badnera (BD) to Jharsuguda (JSG).

My Ticket Particulars are as follows :

Train No. & Name : 12859 Gitanjali Exp.
Date of Journey : 31.12.2013
Journey from/to : Badnera (BD) to Jharsuguda (JSG)
PNR Number : ********07
Coach : S4
Berths : 41, 42, 43 & 45

On boarding the train, to my dismay I have found that the pantry staffs were selling tea at a rate of Rs. 10/- per cup. So far my knowledge goes, as per rate of IRCTC, the price of a cup of tea is Rs. 7/-. Thus it was clearly a case of over-charging when we have no option onboard. I personally approached the on-duty Pantry Manager Mr. Amarjit Singh and discussed the issue. It was understood he was well aware of the fact. To my more dismay he was reluctant when I insisted for bill/receipt for Rs. 10/- against the tea consumed and also shown the audacity by not providing me the Complaint Book to lodge the complaint, even though he is a Govt. servant. As a bonafide passenger, I have all the rights to lodge a complaint in the complaint book, which was supposed to be provided by the pantry manager.

Now Indian Railways, being the largest railway on this earth, should immediately take remedial measures to eradicate corruption right from grass-root level.

Regards.
