Karbonn Mobiles - no battery back up from first day of purchase(k-217)..

I have purchased the karbonn mobile k-217 on 30-09-2009...i have charged the battery completely...but on 01-10-2009 the charge was completely nill(zero)..
i reported this matter to the dealer(VR ENTERPRISES,#24/1,SHARADA PARADISE COMPLEX,NS ROAD,MYSORE-570001 ph:0821-4289998)..but he told me to go for the service...why should we go for the service ? ..this is really mannerless...
i need the replacement for my k-217...please co-operate
