1. I had to cancel my e-ticket (PNR No. 2213213704) at 08.01.2011 following cancellation of Train No. 12444 by Railways at around 3 pm on 08.01.2011.
2. Instead of giving me refund of Rs. 3215, the full amount of ticket, Rs. 2610 only was refunded in my bank account on 11.01.2011. Thus the refund amount was lesser by Rs. 905 only.
3. I repeatedly took up the matter through my e-mails to "etickets@irctc.co.in" and "care@irctc.co.in". I got the reply that they have filed tdr for PNR 2213213704 for the remainining refund, they will forward TDR refund to railways and it will take minimum 90 days. They have subsequently assigned an ID [IRCTC#1762905] to my ticket and have advised to quote it in future correspondence.
4. In my opinion, in case of cancellation of an e-ticket following the cancellation of concerned train by the Railways, the full amount of ticket should have been automatically refunded and the matter of TDS was not applicable in this case.
5. It is, therefore, requested that the remaining refund amount, being Rs. 905 only, should be immediately refunded in my bank account and the matter should not get delayed on account of alleged procedural paraphernalia.
