ICICI Bank Limited - ICICI bank has misplaced my cheque

Hi All,


ICICI bank has misplaced our cheque of INR 7000 and now they are saying that we take the responsibility of that. How will I get my money back as I am in loos of INR 7000.
Please refer below mail from ICICI bank

Dear Mr Kumar,

Further to our e-mail of January 7, 2012 we would like to inform you that we have investigated your concern. As per our investigations, we are unable to locate the cheque no. 003822 deposited by you. We sincerely apologise for the inconvenience caused to you in this regard.

We understand that our official Mr Ashish Rathod has spoken to you and appraised on the matter. We have issued a letter confirming that the above mentioned cheque deposited by you has been misplaced by us, which you can provide to the drawer to issue a fresh cheque.Further, in case the said cheque has been debited from the drawer's account we request you to provide debit certificate to enable us take necessary action on the matter.

Based on your feedback we have sensitized the relevant team and appropriate measures have been taken to avoid such incidents in future.
