I bought this Air Cooler on the special recommendation of the shop owner about its features and high quality in this summer. I was pitching on some other brand as I had never heard of Avis, but the shop owner insisted on this saying that it is exported to Middle East and blah-blah....
Eventually, I bought this cooler by paying an amount of Rs. 7700. When I started operating it, it gave warm air inspite the tank was full... I thought that this is due to high temperature outside...In few days, water started leaking from the coooler. I complained at the helpline no. given by the merchant. It was the same no. as of merchant\'s...He send a mechanic after requesting thrice...the mechanic did something, althought the problem persisted. In a few days problem aggravated and in the night, all water leaked from the tank and filled my drawing room. I again requested the merchant. He said that the tank connected to pipe was defective and it is out of stock..as soon it will come, it will be replaced.
Now it\'s more than a month complaining to the merchant. I requested to replace the cooler also, but he usually disconnects the phone as he hears my name. Since I have shifted my residence recently from Noida to Indirapuram, it\'s almost impossible for me to rush to the shop daily. I have till date spend much amount and energy calling to the merchant. Secondly and more importantly, cooler was bought for getting comfort in this hot summer, but none of the day have I got any comfort, rather it has harassed me physically and mentally.

Obviously, economic damage and physical damages are there. All the members in my family are suffering from severe sun burn and itches just because we invested in this cooler and could not use it. We were bound to live in scortching heat and humidity just because we had no option, once investing huge amount in this cooler. Secondly, the phone calls that we have made to the merchant after bying the cooler are no less than hundreds... usually my mobile bill comes around 1100 p.m., it has touched 2000 last month....

And the mental harassment is such that a permanent tension is created in my house due to scortching heat and humidity...and the cooler is lying at one corner of my house still waiting for someone to come from the merchant\'s side...we have not switched it on since last three weeks scared of the water leakage and warm air...

Complainant's Goal: To return the cooler and get my money back or to replace it
