i am concerned about the id proof sought by the TTE in case of e-tickets. i am student of 11th std. aged 16 years. while travelling to jaipur, on the basis of e-ticket, the TTE asked me for an id-proof such as, voter id-card, passport, license, pan card, govt. issued i-card.
i failed to understand that how can a student have other id-proofs than a passport. legally a person below 18 years cant have any of the requisite id proofs. On 18th may while travelling to jaipur from jodhpur,in A/C three tier, the TTE asked for id proof i did not not and could not have any of the notified id proofs. i showed him my schools original i-card, but he refused to accept the same. of course, finally he had permitted to board but i had to face a lot of embarrassment and harassment. you are therefore requested to modify/ amend rules so as to permit the students on the basis of their school/college i-card.
i am sure this will curb corruption and help the youth below 18 years travelling alone!!
Dear Pratysuhi,
PAN card can be attained at any age, a just born kid can also apply for PAN card as his natural guardian, its an easy process and can get PAN card with in 45 days, at least for such reasons for identity pusrpose.
GOVT id are also available for all, you can with local authorisies in your area.
you & your frineds of your age can get PAN card easliy. Passport many a times entail lots of formality & expense.
I support this complaint.
As per terms and conditions from IRCTC E-Tickets, please do not buy e-tickets if you dont have said ID proofs.
Alternate to this to buy I-Tickets or tickets from Railway Reservation Counters, which do not require ID proofs.
