I had purchased a Honda aviator (Model: SCV110GA) scooter from Race Honda, Delhi on 20th Feb, 2011. The 4 free services were performed at the prescribed interval and after that all paid services have been performed at prescribed intervals at your dealer Pioneer One Honda in Sec – 63, Noida (The service invoices are enclosed for your reference).

Despite regular servicing and maintenance of the scooter as per your instruction booklet and dealer recommendations, the engine of the scooter seized on 31/01/2013. On taking the scooter to the dealership the expenditure incurred for the repair was ₹ 10,570/- (invoice enclosed).

I would very much like to know how you justify such a huge expenditure on the scooter when all prescribed services have been performed at your registered dealer. (None of these services have been cheap, ranging from ₹ 740/- to ₹ 2,300/-, the average cost per service being ₹ 1,212/-.) As far as my intelligence serves me, there can only be two possible reasons – either you have sold me a scooter with a faulty engine or the dealer has not performed proper servicing of the scooter. In either case I have been forced to bear the brunt of a non - performing scooter and exorbitant repair charges.

Such kind of downright dismal performance was never expected from the products of your company. I have been a customer of Honda cars (2 Honda City & 1 Honda Civic) and scooters (1 Honda Eterno, 1 Honda Activa and now Honda Aviator) for more than 10 years but have never experienced such shocking quality issues. In fact I was planning to buy more scooters for my company but after this episode I am done for good with Honda and planning to buy other company’s products.

However, I most keenly look forward to receiving your reply on the matter. I want you to analyse this issue and refund me the sum paid for the repairs caused by your faulty engine/poor service.

Hope you will resolve the matter in a timely and satisfactory manner and would not force me to escalate the matter to judicial authorities.
