To,
General Manager,
Punjab National Bank.

Subject: Harassment for 3 hours for opening a new bank account in sector-17 PNB Branch.

I am very sorry to say that the services of the PNB are not good.
On dated:- 30-05-2014; my wife along with my brother went to PNB sector-17 for opening a new account; but Mr. Dhurup (representative of the PNB) miss-guided them and said they require someone's witness to open an account.
My brother is already having the account in the PNB at Hisar branch.
But, they said you need to deposit an amount of INR 1000/- in your account before opening a new account. ( Need explanation, why INR 1000/- is required to deposit for the witness of a new account?)
Regarding the documentation:-
In the branch; my wife has showed them Adhar card and voter ID, along with the Passport. But representative still enforced both of them by neglecting the relevant documents and saying need to deposit the said amount initial to open a new account. If I am not wrong, as per RBI guidelines, witness is not require to open a new account, if the ID's/proofs are appropriate as per the bank requirement. My wife is pregnant but because of the wrong guidance provided to her by PNB representative; she was told to wait for 3 hours unnecessary.
This was happened in the branch of sec-17, Chandigarh.
Name of the PNB representative: Mr. DHURUP.
Additional Information:
Account Number of Rahul (Brother): 4********0006265
Account Number of Jyoti (Wife): 00********296319
Corrective action: I need the full explanation, why this was happened and what action has been taken against the said person.
I hope this will not happen again as I had a good believe in PNB and its services.
I appreciate that you will take this matter personally and serious action required from your side.
Thanking You,
Your's customer.
