Vidisha - Defective S4, totally unsatisfie​d with the product

With lot of enthusiasm I had bought the Samsung S4 in May 2013. My enthusiasm was very short lived and I started facing so many issues with my phone. I have already taken it to the service center and got it repaired 3 times… Still the phone is not perfectly fine and I am extremely dissatisfied.

1.1st Instance :- The phone was getting overheated. It was becoming so hot that I was not even able to talk after 15-20 mins and had to use my blackberry for talking purpose. I took it to service center and it was repaired.
2.2nd Instance : The phone was shutting down every 10 minutes. When taken to service center it was concluded that the battery was defective and needed replacement.
3.3rd Instance : Every conversation on the phone with goes more than 3-4 minutes drops suddenly. The call drop was happening from the first day itself however it was dropping in 10 minutes. Now the call drops every 3-4 mins.

Voice calling is the core/basic feature of a mobile phone. That itself is faulty. This is very shameful for a company like Samsung which is a leader in consumer electronics including mobile phones. As of now, the phone is with the customer repair center.

I am very frustrated and tired of making trips to service center for having such a defective piece. As of now the phone is within warranty. However 6 months from now, when it goes out of warranty….I don’t know what will happen. Had I purchased it from some shop they would have happily replaced it and I would appreciate if you being online store also replace the same.

Just to give you some idea on customer service for one of your competitors. I had an Apple IPod and it was giving issues with its Radio operations. Without any hesitance and insistence from my side, the device was replaced.

Brings me to a conclusion if buying S4 over iPhone was thoughtful decision.

I have already wasted so much time on this which is quite precious. If I sum it all it must be more than 50-60 hrs and on top of that mental harassment and frustration. I asked you for the email id of Nodal officer so that I could escalate my case for which you have flattery refused by saying you are not Authorised. You might not be knowing that under RTI (Right to Information Act) I am entitled to have this information and you cannot deny me on this. My job is also suffering because of this.




Now I have lost all trust and faith on Samsung and specially their high-end mobiles. Mr. Nitin,Shelke, centre head, Samsung service centre Aundh asked me what Samsung can do to rebuild this trust and faith so this is what I have decided :
1.I know you have extended the warranty till Nov 2014. However I want the extension till May 2015. Looking at your customer service and engineers work, I have lost all trust on Samsung. So this is one of the things you can do to rebuild the trust
2. As promised by Mr. Nitin,Shelke, centre head, Samsung service centre Aundh. That one more time I face an issue with this S4 I will get a new unused Samsung S4. This is the second thing you have to do to rebuild the trust

The above 2 points are non-negotiable. If you think you cannot agree to above 2 then I donate my S4 to Samsung so that Samsung can do experiments on my S4 and other S4 customers are saved from frustration and mental harassment which I have been going through since last 6 months cause of this Samsung Product

After lot of persuing of my case, Samsung agreed to give me extended warrenty of 6 months as they changed the motherboard of my phone. Today I collected my handset from Samsung service centre and inserted my SIM and now I am getting "Not Registered on Network" . I am using the same SIM in my blackberry and it is working perfectly fine. This is what they do in serive center, the phone which was working and had call drop problem, after repairing and change of motherboard it does not allow me to make any outgoing calls. sick and tired of these Samsung. Beware of buying Samsung guys.

Today, I got a call from Samsung Service centre that they have changed the motherboard of my cellphone. While depositing the phone I mentioned please don not change the motherboard. Without even bothering to ask me if I want to get the motherboard changed the it has been changed.



1. If I accept the phone with the changed motherboard I want my warranty to be extended for a year starting from the day I accept the phone back from service centre. I purchased this phone in the month of May 2013 and till Nov 2013 I have visited 4 times for some issue or the other for this phone. If you change the motherboard which is the basic of a phone then I wonder how the phone will behave in future. Therefore I want the warranty to be extended as mentioned above.



2. If that is not possible then I want a replacement of the phoneor refund of the money for the phone.



3. From my experience of using Samsung phone, I bought a Samsung phone 3 years back for 1100/- Rs and till date that works perfectly fine, after that I bought Samsung corby and within 1 month of usage it's touch screen needed to be replaced in warrenty. After 15 months of usage the phone was all gone and I had to buy blackberry which I use till date without any issue and now this Samsung S4, which is all faulty from day one. So Samsung should just make phone worth Rs 1000-2000 and not go beyond that as they are not capable of making high end phone and on top of that they have pathetic customer service.



I want confirmation on 1 or 2 before I collect my phone back from service centre.

After visiting 4 times to the service centre now they say the call drop problem is because of the faulty motherboard . They need to change it. When I say I want a replacement they say it is juts not possible. This is kind of service from Samsung for 40k handset.
They have already changed the battery and now want to change the motherboard which itself proves that handset is faulty. For faulty handset they are not ready for replacement even under warranty. I want to tell I started facing problems within 1 month of usage.
Beware friends before buying such expensive handset from Samsung they have pathetic customer service.

Again the same thing customer service entre repaired it and said the problem is solved however again the call is dropping after 10-15 mins.

What a shame Samsung the basic feature of calling is not right in your 40,000 handset of S4
