Sub: My Policy No.********3.
Sir/ Madam,
I am a Non Resident Indian, now working in Bahrain. I am holding LIC policy NO - ********3 from Kollam Branch Office for RS.100,000/- (Single Premium) with a maturity period of 5 years. It was not a pension plan policy.
Since my policy was matured on 17 Dec 2012, after 5 years, I approached LIC office, Kollam on 21 Jan 2013. But they did inform me that since the policy did not surrender in time; the amount was transferred to pension fund. They say, they did send me a letter for surrendering the amount but it never received by me as I was in Bahrain. Anyhow transferring the amount to pension fund, without my consent is against the rules.
Last year my wife Mrs. Sujatha Kumari Vijayakumar was admitted in RCC hospital, Thiruvananthapuram due to cancer (RCC OP File No – 118711) and had a major surgery. Now she is going through follow up treatment from Sims Hospital Kollam, Kerala. Due to this reason I am in a great financial crisis.
Even though I submitted a surrender request at Kollam Branch, Informing all the above facts and RCC proof, not only they did not take any positive action but handed over the my signed Policy Certificate after one month to my relative with my letter and bank statement for the proof of my account.
Sir, as my wife is now in critical condition and I am in a great financial crisis, this is the time I need the money. So it is requested that action may please be taken to cancel to transferring fund to Pension Plan (which was transferred without my consent) at release the amount and credit to my account at the earliest.
