Mahindra and Mahindra - Clutch failure & worst customer service - new vechile Xuv 500

Hi All,

I have brought the Mahindra xuv 500 vechile 18th August 2017.
On 01st October 2017 , I have took the vechile to Wayanad alone with my family with a head count of 7 people. While traveling itself the vechile dint started couple of times, rears Ac was not working and the curse control resume button is also not working, while getting down from the hills suddenly there was a huge noise and the gear got jamed and clutch plate become harder and not able to stop the vechile, luckly I managed to stop the vechile and my family escaped without any injuries, since there is no other vechile coming behind or infront of us. The incident happend around 1:45 pm , I have contact the help line person to assist and also contacted the service advisor from Chennai nelson manikkam road Mahindra branch. But they the response was very improper, they sent the recovery vechile after 7 hours instead the recovery time agreed by Mahindra was 3 hours. I waited for 4 hours and pushed the car ourself nearly for 4 kms to the nearest Mahindra Eram services station. The service advisor told me wait until they arrange the Eram location manager to address the vechile, but no one addressed my vechile then I been informed to getting the vechile to calicut service station. The recover truck came at 7 45 pm , I have requested to arrange for a taxi for my family but the customer care person told me to pay the money but mahindra agreed that in case of any breakdown anywhere within India they will arrange for the travel and accomodation. But they don’t even arranged any taxi or accommodation , I have requested the recovery person to drop us in the service center and family travelled in the tow truck which was really annoying. The vechile ran around 3,500 km only and was having this much manufacturing defects, moreover on 29 the September 2017 which couple of days before this incident they took my vechile for general service. I don’t understand what they would have did in the general service. I reached calicut service center around 11 30 pm, and had to travel overnight to Chennai since I have not got any rooms to stay and kids are with us.
Even in calicut service center there is no one to address my vechile since it is an holiday on Sunday and the customer person told me to look for the accommodation on my own.
On Tuesday the person contacted me and told that the gear plate and the disc is damaged and had to be replaced that will cost around 20,000 thousand and that will not come under warranty. And I have to come again to calicut from Chennai to pick up my vechile. A luxury vechile like this is having a manufacturing defects and very worst customer care advisors is really annoying. I felt very bad to spend huge money for a useless car.
Moreover I have also contacted the salesperson who sold this car, she told me to give few mins so that she will talk to the manger to look for a help but she never got back to me.
This is a worst experience in my life time, I request the Mahindra head to addressed this issue properly as soon as possible.
I really messed up with the vechile and the service and don’t like to use this defective vechile

I feel very bad for choosing Mahindra car.
