Airtel Chennai - AIRTEL should change its attitude

Greetings,

I have been with airtel services for more than 5 years and which pain I am writing this complaint.

I have been receiving frequent mail from airtel stating that my IMEI is not an valid one. I also receive call from my provider stating that Korean and China mobiles have IMEI problems and hence I have to pay Rs.199/- to have continued service. I would like to know from Airtel how to they decide about the validity of the IMEI.

I also would like to place my strong reservations that Karbonn mobile a registered company in India which advertise and sponsor IPL and many major events does not have an IMEI. But I have the following IMEI nos are M_IMEI ********013351 and S_IMEI ********513350.

My father who holds a entry model Nokia also got a message from airtel stating that he is not having a valid IMEI number.

I would strongly recommend airtel before sending mass SMS to understand the sentiments of the users. It does seems the only idea behind the whole campaign is to make the consumer from purchasing mobiles not made by the old players.

If this persists I strongly feel legal course will be the option to curb activities like this.
