Hi - we were a family of 5 people (husband-wife, our kid & his grand-parents) travelling via Bagh Express (train # 13020) from Kathgodam to Howrah (end-to-end) on 29/5/11. Our PNR no. was 2114384985. Status of our ticket, bought exactly 3 months prior to boarding, showed 3 RAC-s (# 4, 5 & 6) and 2 Waitlisted (#1 & 2) from about start of May '11. However, there was no status change when we boarded the train. We had been widely told by several travel agents that those would get confirmed during travel and we need not worry.
While we spent 2 nights and altogether about 39 hours on our journey, unbelievably not a single upward movement could be registered for even one of our tickets. And that too after repeatedly pleading with all the different TTs boarding the train at different times and citing the hardship being faced. Interestingly, we did see in the reservaton chart that many people waitlisted later than us had actually got confirmed. While there were reasons cited that they were travelling for a shorter duration etc., it's hard to accept the fact that not even 1 seat additionally could be provided - which resulted in untold discomfort esp. during the nights with the kid and the elderly people.
