Sony Center - Sony unable to repair my new DVD player

Hi!

I purchased a Sony DVD player around 8 months back. DVD was working fine untill this month (December 2011). It stopped while playing.

Unfortunately, I threw the warranty papers but I am readu to pay for the repair.

I went to the Sony Center in Jail Road from where I purchased this item. They asked me to go to the Sony service center, Rajouri Garden ACE ELECTRONIC SERVICES J 3/7 RAJOURI GARDEN NEW DELHI

They took the DVD and told me that they would call me. new day I rceived a call from them and they told me that the player cannot be repaired. I was amazed to hear that, as Sony serviec center telling me that they cannot repair a sont DVD player. I am not ready to beleive that canot repair my DVD player. They also said that nothing can be done and the player is now just a piece of junk.

I understand that I lost the warranty papers but I was ready to pay the charges.

Now the DVD player is lying with me like a junk (what the Sony service center told me).

I believe that some one out there will be able to help me with this.
