Reliance Communications Limited - Reliance Communication - FRAUD

Complaint by Niraj on December 20, 2011, 5:57 pm in Telecommunications

Attention Nodal Officer,

This is regards to a cell + cell connection that I have purchased from your Reliance Mobile Store at Haji Ali, Mumbai, Maharashtra on the 1st of November 2011. At the time of purchase I was informed along with a broacher (that confirms the claim) that if I was to take the Simple 99 plan, I would get SMS worth INR 99 free with that plan.

Being tempted I took up that plan.

On the 8th of November 2011, I completed my first billing cycle. Billing date was from the 1st of November 2011 – 8th of November 2011. In my first bill there was an SMS charge of 1 Rupee + taxes. When the same was bought to the attention to your representatives of the Reliance Mobile Store at Santacruz(W), I was informed that the same would be adjusted along with the necessary tax reversals in the next billing cycle.

Come 9th of December 2011, I receive a bill which had “NO” reversals what so ever, and additionally there was a charge of INR 6 + taxes for SMS.

Further to this on the 20th of December 2011, I went to the Reliance Mobile Store, at Santacruz(W), to confront the store with the same issue that was there in my very first bill. I was informed by your Sales Rep(On the counter, not loafing around as FOS) at the store that I was right in my claim for free SMS worth INR 99 on the plan that I was on.

I was directed to use the free *359 service available at your store. I spoke to a gentle man by the name of “FIROZE”. Mr. Firoze advised that I had been conned by your Sales Representatives from whom I took the cell + connection at the Haji Ali Store, and there was nothing he could do about it, and I would have to pay the bill, as my plan was NOT entitled to get any free SMS worth INR 99.(Now this Firoze was also contradicting the broacher that was given to me, which is still in my possession)

I went ahead, and asked your store representatives at Santacruz(W), to provide me with the address of the Telecom Service Ombudsman, as this is a clear case of fraud, and had to be reported to the relevant Government Authority. I was denied that. Reason being none of ur sales guys had EVER heard of what ombudsman stood for.(Great, what is the Reliance Fish MART?????)

Further I went ahead, and called up your nodal office number at 18602002011. I spoke to some one, name I can not recollect, but my Vodafone Bill will definitely show that we had a long conversation. Since it was my personal vodofone Cell, I asked your nodal officer to call me back. At the time of sending this mail it has been over 2 hours, and I am still waiting for that character to call me back. Service levels – have you people heard of what this is???????

So where do we stand? I have been conned by your company. Your company has given a false commitment, your company is in denial, and is not willing to reverse the charges. To make matters worse form the 9th of December 2011, till it was bought to my attention on the 20th of December 2011, I have SMSed multiple people. Definitely the volume of the SMS is below INR 99, as that is the limit that I had “ASSUMED” as per the “FALSE” commitment that was given to me by your sales representatives.

Now here is the bottom line. From the 1st of November 2011 till, that what ever SMSs have been sent from my cell number +91 9320659323, TODAY, ie 20th of December 2011, should be waived, and the same should reflect on my billing cycle, with a written reply to what the hell are your sales people doing?????????????????????

I have run out of patience, dealing with your lot, and will not take this incident with a pinch of salt. I want answers, and action at the earliest.

As I have bought this to your attention well in time, please do the needful, so that I may clear my existing bill before it last date which is the 27th of December 2011. Any delays on your end will cause delays at my end for clearance of the bill, and I am not liable to pay any bogus late charges as such.

And please some degree of professionalism is expected, don’t give me regular uncle tom routine - “Sir please pay the bill we will settle it later” as I am not falling for that.

Niraj
