Indian Railways - Refund of Fare

Ticket Number : 265 6090577 Train Number : 12230 Class : 3 AC Date : 23.10.2011

I was traveling from New Delhi to Lucknow boarding at New Delhi railway station the ticket master said he will not be able to accommodate in 3 AC because of which i went to purchase a general class ticket and tried to refund the earlier ticket so purchased . The train number so mentioned was the last train from Delhi to Lucknow and coming back on the same date was necessary so if i would have stayed there to get the ticket cancelled i would have left the train so, I boarded the same train( 12230) in the general compartment and traveled with pain. On coming back to Lucknow i surrendered both the ticket to the Commercial Manager, Lucknow and was told that the money would be refunded back to me. Then he sent me Ticket Deposit Receipt dated: 24/10/2011 and said me to sent this letter to Varanasi to C.C.M claims. I worked as per his instructions and on date 04.11.2011 i received a letter from C.C.M claims which stated that the refund of fare was not possible as the reason stated by the said letter was : Ticket Submitted at the destination after arrival of the train.

As having the genuine reasons for not submitting the ticket so i hereby want my money to be refunded back. If there was no such provision then it would have been told to me in advance but i was kept uninformed and was also irritated by the act .
