I had booked Volkwagen Vento Red HighLine Diesel in Volkswagen Downtown Bangalore (Margth Road) on 13th October 2010 and was promised the car would be delivered in 2 to 3 months (Paid an advance amount of Rs.75,000/-). However, it is more than 5 months now (23rd March 2011) & I still have not recieved any confirmation on the delivery of my car from the Dealer.
All I get to hear from the Dealer is false promises & an useless apology! It is hard to believe that they've no clue of the likely delivery date for the car. Don't you've any production plan in place so that the Dealers are appropriately informed & they could in turn inform the Customers. I'm left to wonder who is inefficient, Volkswagen or the Dealer!
I least expected to receive such Pathetic Service from a famous Car Brand like "Volkswagen". I wanted to do a quick check if this issue could be resolved before I seek help from the Consumer Protection court.

A typical problem with the sales personnel at the dealership is that they over-promise without verifying any facts from the Manufacturer (Volkwagen in this case). The sales persons want your bookings done, and they dont care about the repercussions of their wrongful promises.
Strong contracts at the time of booking the cars would help avoid these kind of issues. We negotiate for the price or the accessories so much. We might as well negotiate for strong terms and conditions in favor of the consumer.
