Liberty Cinema - Issuance of Cinema Tickets

I had purchased 2 nos tickets from the box office of Liberty Cinema, Nagpur (advance booking counter) on saturday 25/07/2009 around 1200 noon. I had requested for a booking of the 400 pm show of Sunday 26/07/2009. The cost of each ticket (Dress Circle) is Rs 60/- and I remitted a total price of Rs 120/- in cash for the same.

We ( two persons) entered the hall at 345 pm on Sunday and were given the counterfoils. The film started and after approximately 30 mins two persons came and claimed our seats which we were reluctant to abdicate.

The usher took the tickets of both ours and the claimants and came back to tell us that the tickets we were holding were of saturdays 400 pm show and not of sundays. This meant we were late by 24 hrs despite buying the proper tickets in advance.

This was beyond our belief as the usher had already checked our tickets let us settle in our alloted seats. (C7 and C8). We were however asked to leave the hall. When we lodged a complaint with the box offce, the persons at the counter refused to listen. The manager Mr Gothmare was also not available in office and in fact no body was ready to even pay heed to us. I also informed them that I would take up the matter with relevant authorities. In return the counter persons retorted and asked us to go whereever we wanted.

I would like to lodge this complaint against Liberty Cinema, Sadar, Nagpur along with its management for causing such mental as well as physical harassment and loss of time and money.

They had initially issued us proper tickets and hence the usher let us in. During the progress of the show when some other persons claimed our seats, due to darkness we could not see their tickets and handed over the tickets to the person who was checking. It is possible that our valid tickets were interchanged at that point of time forcing our tickets to be invalid.

I would request the forum to take heed of this complaint and let me know and guide how I can proceed further in this case.
