Indian Railways - IRCTC tatkal railway ticket booking through net

I would request anybody to try booking a tatkal rail ticket from home and bet if you can get a ticket through internet booking at 8:00 am when the counter opens . The site is completely blocked till 8:10 and when you get some access the tickets have all gone. Touts at the counter with the handiwork of some internal staff get any tatkal ticket they want. I have a high speed broad band connection and still barely manage to enter the website.
The IRCTC service is good but tatkal tickets booking is really sad..
